  • You are right the money is to pay of another debt that i have got behind with but the thing is I really need ot pay it or I will face court and with my job you cant afford to be taken to court for anything as it could result in you losing your job.
thanks for all your advice. I do really want to be debt free but for now the only way out is to get a loan or i risk losing my job and will have no income so will be 100 times worse off.
  • Hey Lisa

I've been in your exact same situation, maxed out, and risking my job, phone cccs or payplan, change your phone number and contact all debtors and get them to remove your telephone number, dont panic and feel free to go to debt free wanabee board, I am not such a big user of the board but the whole site in general has got me back on track. Dont try to find the money at the minute, you obviously dont have it, pay what you can afford and goodluck

you can pm if you ever want a chat

    Best Regards
    Cath
  • my main worry is I have no money at all until the 31st jan as I got paid yesterday and with all my direct debits, promise to pay card payments etc my bank account is now in the red without an overdraft. How am i going to live for a month with no money? how will i pay my childminder? buy food? buy petrol to get to work? I was so stressed last month from all the phone calls and hassle that i just wanted it all to go away so agreed to give them my card details so that it could be taken out on payday and now I have totally stuffed myself up. I am in such a mess and dont know what to do anymore for the best.
I have been looking at log book loans so that i can at least get some money for food etc. I am also thinking of asking my mortgage company if they can add some extra on to the mortgage as I have always managed to keep up with these payments.
This probably sounds really bad but on my way home tonight I was so stressed out about everything that I just wanted a big lorry to crash into me on the motorway.
Sorry to put all this trouble on you guys and thanks for all of the help
  • I swear you are me this time last year, honestly dont panic!

What I done was I took leave last Jan for a whole month therefore saving my childminding costs, also saved me on fuel, and wasted money in work ( you know when you go out at lunch buy a mag, drink, it all adds up). Cancel your direct debits to creditors immediately and instead use internet banking to transfer payments to your creditors. I personally wouldnt add money to a mortgage but I'm not a homeowner I privately rent. If I was you I would bring in all your details to your local dhss and maybe apply for a crisis loan for your living expenses. I personally didnt do any shopping for over a month, I went visiting my family at dinner times, I always had cereals, milk and bread in the house for other times for my daughter and I. If you lived near me I'd make you come and stay as you honestly sound like me this time last year, please come over to dfw board and we can do a statement of account for you and see what else we can save for you. You have kids also so you'll be getting your child benefit and tax credits from that during the month, dont use this for your debts, keep it separate for your basic living costs

I'll be online a while here so feel free to pm me or I'll keep checking back to you

Dont take out anymore money, no offence but you seem to be in a good and proper mess as it is and things can only get worse if you keep taking more money out. Perhaps you should sit down with your finances and work out whats going on. Get over to the Debt part of this forum and get some advice and help over there.

Robbing Peter to pay Paul will catch up with you and make matters worse.

If you still really need money, in your situation it looks like it would have top be a door step lender type set up and then you will get stung for high interest, a nightmare situation.

You need to calm down, wanting to crash etc is silly. Things can be worked out with a little work. It will be a struggle to get back on your feet but it can be done.

not sure who or what you owe the money to excatly , but try phoning them and talking with them they may allow you a little breathing space if you are honest and up front with them like you have been on here .

This is so true , sometimes people run around trying to "rob peter to pay paul" when sometimes a phonecall and a bit of self pity, pleading and smooth talking will sort it out .
Listen to the above posts and you can almost see that this time next year you will be giving advice to other people who are in the position you are in now .

Go to your local Citizens Advice first thing in the New Year. They have debt councillors who will help you sort out a proper payment plan with your creditors.

Stop taking the easy way out and blaming it on getting stressed and giving card details , face it and ring around and get repayments you can afford , I have a mate who burried his head in the sand blaming him being stressed while he just spent more , everyone gets stressed at owing but its up to everyone to spend sensibly. Too many people buy stuff cos they want it regardless whether they can afford it or not. Cant you bike into work? take a break from the childminder and use family for a while?
