wrong serial number on bill

Hi

this is my first ever post!
right, i received a letter from southern water today stating that an inspector was coming to check our water meter was supplying our flat. We currently rent and live in a block of 10 flats. We have lived here for 4 years and were the first tennants in the building (its a new build).
Anyway i thought i would go and check and to my shock, my bill has my neighbours serial number on it, so it would appear i have been paying their bills?? bear in mind there have been at least 3 different tennants in this flat. i checked the numbers (meter reading) and they seem similar. My question is has anone had any simialr issues and how did it get resolved? southern water state they will contact us within a month and amend our account if they find issue!!

cheers
simon
