  • unplug your original modem from the pc and phone line
connect your new router to the same phone hole you just took your original modem out of.
connect the erthnet cable to one of the number lan ports on your new router then into the erthenet connection on your pc (round the back)
plug in your router wait for all flashing to stop.
    turn on pc

you then have to setup your inernet connection to run through the router
you should have an http:// address supplied with the router enter this into explore like at the top of this page and follow the on screen instructions.

you will need to know your isp(tiscalli) settings username and password

    happy new year
  • If you look at the first line of my first post, it tells you how to connect it, or you could read the manual.
Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time?
  • Try this number for Belkin 01604 678323 ?

What everyone is saying is you need to make sure what you bought includes an ADSL modem. If it doesn't.. take it back to the shop and ask them to change it. If the assistant gave you the wrong type, he didn't listen to you or ask the right questions. They are usually quite reasonable.

As others pointed out this will plug into your phone line completely replacing the existing modem, it is redundant. Make sure you use the phone line filters correctly.

There is one other thing you might check is that some modems do have a network port covered by a sticker, but I'm sure that you will have checked that.

I have read the manual -if you can call it that- and followed the step by step set up disc.think i might need to go and get a combined modem/router though.

  • Do you have a BT phone or cable phone?

What exact model number have you bought, it should be on the bottom of the router, usually FDxxxx or similar

    These are for BT lines:
