The bisto one is horrid, my sister swears by the makeway ones it comes in a powder, I know ASDA sell it as I have ordered it for her before. I think most asian food stores sell it too.
Could try http://www.greatbritishkitchen.co.uk/recipes_result.asp?name=chipshopcurrysauceOne day I might be more organised...........

I've seen packets of it (just add water, Knorr possibly, bound to be own brand available) in supermarkets before. I did have a packet, but lost it when SWMBO threw out my antique food collection.
Not that instant is very OS though. Mmmmmm now I fancy some....0 -
But lil_me's recipe link is very OS. Thanks!0

They used to sell a little paper packet of Chip Shop Curry in the local butchers years ago, I can't remember the make but it will annoy me till it comes back to me.0

Yep was going to say it's a chinese style usually they use. Watch it with the white tshirts/blouses of course as it usually stains good!
Sorry it's spelt makyway I think, sunflower brand is another one aswell as Yips I think my local butcher stocks. Maysan make the maykway one which also do pastes etc. Easy to get up here as it's made in Newcastle, but I think ASDA is the only other one that definately has it. I think most have trans fats/hydrogenated veg oil in them which is something I try to avoid, so well worth trying the other
