Hoping for some advice - Bright Finance/Welcome/FSCS

Hi all,
I have just started the process of reclaiming PPI on a loan with Welcome sold to me by Bright Finance back in April 2005 as I was told if I didn't take it I wouldn't get the loan
I was referred to the FSCS and they sent me the form to complete
Due to a house fire a few years ago I didn't have paperwork from Welcome so I sent a request to them and have today received a copy of my credit agreement and am advised a statement of account will arrive separately.
The FSCS form asks for proof that Bright Finance sold me the policy but there is no reference to them on the paperwork from Welcome, they also ask for the name of the policy provider and policy number and although the credit agreement shows the amount there is no more info.
Does anyone know how or where I will find this?
Thanks in advance!

Hi
With mine through the FSCS, the lender provided the main of the paperwork on behalf of the broker who obviously dissolved, but the FSCS will have ways of tracking down the details.
Have you tried contacting the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) for advice on this, maybe they can suggest something perhaps.

What I don't understand here is, the fact that the data should be held on the computer files/systems.The one and only "Dizzy Di"

I might be a bit stupid, and I apologise in advance if I am because I'm grateful for help, but should i write to these people or try Welcome again??
Thanks0 -
I think I was being a bit stupid but thank you all.
The form from the FSCS asked for lots of things which I didn't think I had but after calling them today it turns out the info on my credit agreement and the letter from welcome with my account number on should be enough.
Fingers crossed.
The paperwork is going back to them in tonight's post any ideas how long it should be before I can expect a response or how I could work out how much it could be?0 -

Hi there
Sorry I missed this yesterday, but glad you got that sorted in regards of the info.
With Welcome already in default, then let's hope you will not be waiting too long, mine with another company did take some time, because even though the business dissolved, it was a matter of waiting for them to go into default, but what I would do now is contact them next week and ask what happens now they have your form.
They will probably say it will be passed on to Deloiites, who are a company that do all the assessing on these complaints, once they have completed this, they will pass it back to the FSCS who will then check it through, from there they will arrange a payment.
It's difficult to say a timescale, but maybe a month or 2 there should be some headway on this as Welcome are already in default.
Contact the FSCS say every other week for updates, good luck and by the way your not at all stupid.

Please keep us posted, cheers xThe one and only "Dizzy Di"

Just a quick update!
I called the number on the FSCS paperwork yesterday which then puts you through to Deloitte who are dealing with the claims, they said they haven't had my form back yet because the FSCS had run out of envelopes with the Deloitte address on so were sending out old ones with their address on and then passing them on to Deloitte? This all sounded a bit odd to me but the man explained what would happen and send they anticipate about 2 months to deal with the claim but could be longer.
I will follow your advice and keep calling regularly for updates.
Thanks!0
