I sent an email to BC and got the following response

May I inform you that the decision to withdraw the UK cash advance
facility is based on customer profiling, taking into account all of the
customer's available financial information. This does not just include
Barclaycard information but also that provided by credit reference
agencies and the Barclays group.

We have introduced this policy as part of our commitment to responsible
lending and in response to concerns that in some circumstances cash
withdrawals may indicate a customer is experiencing financial
difficulties.

This facility will not be available to you for a minimum of six months.
Although you are no longer eligible to withdraw cash within the UK, you
may still be able to withdraw cash outside the UK.

I wish to inform you that when the UK cash facility has been withdrawn,
we will send a letter by first class
post advising this.

Very odd. I have two cards from them. One with a BT of 2600 at 2.9 percent and never defaulted and this is also backed up by savings.
Another card from them which has never been used with CL of 5,500.

I would further add I have never used my card for cash advances and this goes for any other card I hold. Also my commitments are very low.

I have now spoken to BC and they said that the majority of customers will be affected by this decision. Also when i queried why six months. He said he didnt know the reason why.
