Mobile Phone & Accessories - Warranty
I have a Samsung pay monthly phone with Vodafone, 11 months in to a 24 month contract. The earphones supplied with the phone have stopped working in one ear.
Now there is very little on the vodafone help pages about warranty coverage.
I contacted their helpdesk and mentioned that the earphones have stopped working. They replied stating that thy are not covered by the warranty and that I can buy a new pair in the shop.
So I did a little surfing and discovered the warranty terms on the Samsung website that state that accessories are covered for 12m, battery for 6m and the phone for 24m. That suggests to me that vodafone are not passing on the warranty supplied by Samsung.
Ive replied stating this - I await their response.
Anyone else had a similar experience to this? If so, what was the outcome?

Two points one seller has offered no warranty on headphones .Puzzled why they are not covered as standard item .
two Samsung warranty is often better to go direct to Samsung .

I work at CPW and accessories often come with between 1-6 months of warranty. It's unlikely that after 11 months the earphones are still under warranty, especially since the warranty on your phone is almost up.
In all fairness, they are incredibly cheap earphones and it's amazing that they've actually managed to last that long0 -
alexdrans, I disagree, 11 months into a 24 month contract is not almost up, its less than half-way.
I agree that earphones may be cheap, but samsung do cover them for 12m. Also, Ive only been using them for 5months of the 11 that Ive owned them.0 -
Plus Sale of Goods Act does not exclude Earphones .
£1 earphones from Poundland have a longer guarantee .
I would be calling Trading Standards .

Hi UncleZen,
I am sorry to hear that your headphones aren't working properly for you.
Vodafone will cover the handset for the full term of the contract under warranty. Samsung will also supply you with a warranty which would cover these seperately. If you contact Samsung, I am sure they will be able to help you with this.
Kind regards,
Heidi
