in Credit cards
Egg are offering £10 if you register with the Money Manager feature on their Credit Card website. All you need to do is register with Money Manager and add one none Egg account to the Money manager list. You will recieve the £10 into your Credit Card account by 6th of May.
Seems like a good deal for not doing very much. Not sure if this offer is only valid for today.

But you hand Egg the authority to look at the nature of transactions on all accounts managed and possibly break the T&C of the managed accounts by storing passwords. Not worth it in my opinion.0

I filled in their customer satisfaction survey (or whatever it was called) yesterday morning and cited this as the main thing that encouraged me to stop using Egg Money Manager.
That and the fact I followed a link on here for the free tenner late January and haven't received it yet.0 -
Why not register and then change your password on the "other" account thus dissabling Egg dipping in?0

Egg cannot see any of your non Egg accounts on Egg Money Manager. The passwords are stored on the users PC. You may be right about the fact that storing passwords on a PC maybe against the banks terms and conditions.0 -
So what do Egg get out of providing this Money Manager service?0

Not sure, but it is a common misconception that Egg can see your accounts. If you go to the website it explains this before you sign up.0 -

Where? Plenty of detail that they do not see your passwords or other security details, but nothing about not seeing the information it is pulling down from those sites.
In fact the T&C say:
"5. Collection, use and disclosure of personal information
5.1 During your use of Egg Money Manager, we will gather and may review all the information which:
* You give to us, to other Egg companies and to linked suppliers;
* Or which we, other Egg companies and linked suppliers obtain from you or others about you personally under or in conjunction with these terms and conditions and any other accounts or products and services you take from us."
There is nothing in the T&C or FAQs that I can see that says that Egg does not obtain and use the data.0 -
I've been using Egg money manager since the day it started and I have never had any problems with security and even if they could see my other accounts I don't really care...
I think it is a great system, I can track all my money by entering a single username and password (other login details are secure on my PC). This is excellent as I have a total of 20-25 accounts from savings, current, credit cards and ISA's and I can see exactly what my net worth is and transfer easily between the accounts. (it would take me ages to check these individually)
You can assign names to the accounts - I've added the current interest rate to these so I can make sure my money is always making the most...
If you can get £10 for using it... go for it...
SimonIf at first you don't succeed... CHEAT...0
