3g/Lowell contract problems!!!
Please bare with me this will take some explaining!...
Took out a contract over the phone for 2 3g mobiles back in 2006...as far as i was concerned was on a discounted line rental for whole contract. After 6 months contract doubled!!! I contacted 3 at this time was told to contact supplier of contract...i did this only to be basically told on the phone that i was probably a silly woman who didnt know what she had agreed to (bare in mind i would never had agreed to contract with only 6 months discounted rental as been caught before with this on orange). I asked for copies of the phone conversations to varify that i did agree but they never appeared. I then refused to pay anymore and stopped using the phones.
A couple of months back got letters from company called Lowells saying i owed over £400 for cancelling my contract. I contacted them a explained that i believed i had been miss sold the contract and they said they would investigate it but in the mean time i paid £113 which were the actual call costs on the phones as a good will
Now heard back from them and they have said i need to take it up with original company i got phone from to sort it out, which i did in the beginning!!!
I feel that i'm banging my head off a wall no one will give me proof that i said yes to this contract ( had nothing written) and i keep getting demands for the money. If they prove i said yes then fair enough but I am certain i wouldnt have...anyone else had problems like this?
Oh and the company name I think was three G Communications.

so there is £287 outstanding. basically its your word against theres. they probably lied to get you to agree to the contracts, but you have no proof that they did.
i would go to citizens advice if i were you telling them you were mis sold the phone contracts. and seek advice there.
im sure someone here will be more clued up than me on this subject and advise you further. either way they would not get a single penny more out of me.0 -
Thanks for the reply That was my next port of call. I did try finding the company i got the contracts from Threecom communications only to find the numbers listed for the company either go to a different company altogether or a private house!!!
Ive got a feeling that they may not even be trading anymore
I may also contact 3 themselves and ask for copies of all the information they have on this account as i havent got anything anymore with it being so long ago, I assume they would have something relating to my contract !!
Failing that im not sure, all I'm asking for is proof and no one seems to have it so i'm not paying anything more till i get it !!!0 -
The problem here looks like you were given the wrong info from the dealer, now that dealer is no longer trading I don't know where you go apart from CAB.
3 haven't given you the info, all they will have on their system is the details that the dealer supplied them with, and if that states 6 months discounted line rental that's all they're going to give you.
If the dealer was still trading you'd clam from them, I have a feeling you'll be in the same boat as people that agreed to a contract with cashback from a dealer and then the dealer goes bust, ie you'll have to pay, but I'm sure the forum experts in this area will be along soon !!0
