Get one of the chip repair/dent removal companies to give you a quote.

Owner could be an idiot and demand it's repaired by a dealership, who will only use the above anyway and slap a nice chunk of profit on top.

I've got pics of door. Ran finger over it and it is chipped. How could a three year old do this -gosh l'm so angry at her.

I am sorry but she is a 3 year old girl. I am sure she didn't do it on purpose and she hasn't killed anyone....

Don't all cars come with childlocks or whatever they are called so kids can't open the cardoor?

But please put it in perspective...it's a bit of paint of a car!!

I am sure as she gets older, you'll have bigger things to worry about.

I don't have much advice to offer, but as someone who takes pride in their car and likes to keep it looking nice can I just say that I really appreciate your honesty. Far too many people would just sod off and pretend it never happened.

If you have the cash and the other driver seems reasonable, it's probably best to sort it outside of insurance otherwise you'll have to declare it for the next five years and suffer increased premiums, as will the other person.

Personally if it were my car I wouldn't accept one of those mobile chip repairs as you can see them afterwards, but I wouldn't be going to a main dealer and trying to blag a like for like hire car or any of that crap.

    Good luck!
