Misses due for upgrade.
This is my first post here so hello everyone
My misses is due for an upgrade, she has never had a smartphone or internet and i would like to get her the best phone i can for £25pm. She is with tmobile and has been for about 10years, We rang them up last night to see what they could offer and the best they would do was samsung galaxy s for
£30pm
900mins
500txt
internet
Or £25pm with £70 for phone. These were both 24month contracts, Do they sound ok or can she do better.
I thought if we said we will cancel they would put us through to the cancellations department which normally offers you a bit better deal, but the person we was talking to was just going to cancel it there and then and give us a pac code or something so she just said she would think about it.
The deal they offered you can get as a new customer anyway so was wondering if you lot know of better deals or the best way to get them.
Looking on the net places like buymobilephones.net do a lot better offers with tmobile so how does that work? Are these sites ok as This will be her first nice phone so wouldnt want to ruin it by going through bad service with some dodgy site.
Sorry if there are a lot of questions, just trying to get the best i can for the money. Any help will be much appreciated.

Loyalty counts for nothing £s wise. Renewals dont appear to get a better a deal than new customers.
In terms of the deal you quote the £25 is better value for money as £5 (£30-£25) * 24 equals £120 minus £70 for phone means this deal costs £50 less.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.

On the basis that the deal you are being offered is the same for new customers - it's a poor deal.
I'm assuming you are at _end_ of the contract i.e. in the last week or so? This is the best time to negotiate.
Not sure how tmobile works for retensions ... but requesting your pac shouldn't (won't) terminate your contract but gives you 30 days to take the number elsewhere. They might offer you something there and then or call you later on. I'd suggest you get a deal in mind that you have seen elsewhere.0 -
Thanks, Might request the pac code then, After the 30 days does your contract keep on going if you dont swap the number ?0

I don't know if this helps, but in the T mobile shop yesterday I was offered the following (not advertised/manager's discretion)
Free HTC wildfire s, 500 mins, 600 texts, unlimited internet, plus one free bolt-on (eg free calls to other T mobile customers, free calls to landlines, and other such offers). All for £20 a month, 24 month contract.I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -
Yes, usually they give you the pac ... if you don't use it within 30 days your contract will just continue (not renew).0
