aol and no internet connection since july 11

since deciding to change my line rental to aol/talk talk i have been unable to connect to the internet every day since i have phoned customer services who have done nothing but lie / false promise and a fair share of time stalling .
i am at the point now where i don't believe a thing they say .

tactics used by them include

putting me on hold and then cutting me off

telling me i would be reconnected within a time scale (didn't happen)

good news text messages saying my connection was repaired (it wasn't)

making me try different modens (3 in total ) when i had told them it wasn't a modem fault .

and to put the tin hat on the matter my phoneline is at best very poor and at worst none existant .

cant believe how poor such a large company can be

i would advise people not to touch them with a bargepole

this issue is still ongoing any ideas on any move i could make manys thanks

Just curious about what area you live in?

I am having similar problems. I went to visit a friend this afternoon and she is also having these problems. We have both had problems since mid July too. We use an exchange in central Scotland.

I also had to make repeated calls to them as they have failed to deliver modems as agreed. Now truly fed up.

I have 3 talktalk clients and none of them have had/are having connectivity problems during July 2011. I do acknowledge that they're customer support is next to useless - and if you start speaking the lingo that they should understand...they don't!

There are only a few places a connection problem could occur:
    • Hardware (as in a modem/router)
    • Internal wiring (within the house including junction boxes)
    • The line from the house to the nearest telegraph pole
    • The line to the exchange
    • The exchange to the broadband provider

As you can imagine, most of the above would affect other users, and the rest can be diagnosed with hardware or BT's fault service, so perhaps give them a go if you haven't already.

Out of interest, were you ever able to connect, or have you had problem since you switched over?
