Thanks for all the replies folks!
Quick question for you ladies. If your husband to be was to present you with personalised number plates with your initials etc as part of your gift from the groom, would it be a nice touch or daft? Was driving into work this morning a saw a plate which caught my eye & it got me thinking....!0 -

Personalised number plates are a bit of a love or hate thing I think - personally I hate them - sorry, that's just my opinion! If you know she likes them then go for it, but try and gauge what she thinks about them first.

My advice would be either get something you know she'll love or dont bother at all - random bits & bobs don't always make a great special present.
My hub didn't give me a present for the day & I really didn't care, he was gift enough. Besides, he had bought me my wedding shoes as a surprise a few months before the wedding.
Likewise, I was worried that I couldn't think of a keepsake gift for him - fob watches, cufflinks and the alike were just not that personal. In the end I just got him a cheap pair of black & neon plimsoles that he could switch into to dance in, which he was so thankful for, and the letter from Arsene Wenger was more valuable to him than any cliche expensive keepsake.
WRT lingerie, as other have said, the bride will have specially picked out something that is suitable under her dress (and yes, that might turn out to be Bridget Jones controll pants, sorry to burst the bubble!).
In the same way jewellery is tricky, as girls tend to plan out all of their accessories in advance too, so a random necklace etc might not go with everything else.
So to echo others, you know your OH best, go for something personal rather than something you think should be given, and if that something personal is just a note, then thats way better than random tat!0 -
I have a personalised number plate & love it, so i'd be happy with one but I think as others say it a personal thing.Married the man of my dreams - 10th September 2012, St Paul's Bay Lindos :jIt was amazing.
