Does such an IDE cable exist?

I am looking for an IDE cable with 4 plug/ends on it.

I have looked through various websites and I can't seem to find one, do they exist?

I missed out the number, sorry! Forgive me, I am ill and drugged up on a load of pain killers, which aren't being much help tbh.

My original post has been editted.

May be wrong (if i am I will edit:rotfl:  ) but you cannot fit 4 IDE devices on one controller - perhaps you mean a SCSI cable ?

You can only have a IDE cable with 3 connections maximum, with two devices attached, the other connector plugs into the motherboard or IDE controller.
One drive should be set as Master, the other set as slave.
Most motherboards have 2 IDE controllers so it's a case of using the 2nd controller if you need additional devices.

You can add a further set of IDE devices on an additional PCI card added to your motherboard. You could also add a hard drive via USB if that is what you are looking for.

As you can tell by the thread, I didn't know. If such a thing doesn't exist then it doesn't exist.

I'm asking because I have 2 hard drives, I've brought another but I do not have the space in my motherboard to add another ide cable and I'm not buying another MB because I brought one a couple of months ago when I rebuilt my computer. I was just wondering how to redo the computer that was all.

If it can't be done, it can't be done.

    Thanks guys

if you recently bought a new motherboard and it is a reassonably new one it will probably have a "sata" connection on it.This will allow you to put additional devices on,although they would have to be "sata" aswell

The hard drive I have isn't Sata, but yeah I know my motherboard has sata on it. I'll sling one of the other hard drives, its no biggie.

    Thanks
  • you could always put it in a usb caddy.

How many CD / DVD drive's do you have?

You can put the HD on the same IDE cable as the DVD (mark it as slave).
