    Thanks for all the info.

Checked the laptop and decided to discard the existing RAM in the underside of the machine and purchase a 2GB from Crucial.

I looked at key board removal and thought it difficult.

I will find it much easier to replace the existing one.

I was very impressed with Crucial -

    Qty: 1 CT976496
    Part number: CT25664AC667
    Price: £16.99 (EX. VAT)
Description: 2GB, 200-pin SODIMM Upgrade for a Crucial Scanner Results Intel Mobile 945 Series System
    Line total: £16.99 (EX. VAT)

    Order subtotal: £16.99 (EX. VAT)

Freight charges: Royal Mail Free Shipping (3-5 working days) £0
    Approximate VAT tax: £ 3.40
    Total due Crucial: £ 20.39

I hope that it accepts the 2GB module.

They will have to exchange it if it doesn't run it, odd that they would say it was suitable if it isn't

Fair enough, though in post two it was mentioned to check the machine, and if crucial have supplied this

Yes, Crucial recommend laptop RAM, whereas your link was to DIMM.

Not a problem anyway, as the OP used the scanner....and there was a happy ending. :)

Good that the 2GB module was recognised.
