    Morning All,

Happy Belated Anniversary Lou hope you enjoyed the cake
Flutterbyuk hope your feeling better this morning
    Fizz Welcome
Esmf I know exactly what you mean about uniform, my DS3 is disintigrating day by day:eek: trousers are too short and tatty, he looks like he has been shrunk in the wash. Never mind its rainbow day today. He has gone in chinos and a beatles t shirt, not really rainbow. Tomorrow is Alton Towers so he only has half a day on Friday to wear it thank goodness. Really looking forward to the holidays and things being a bit more relaxed.
My DD and BF and DGS called last night to say goodbye to her brother and his GF who go off travelling for a couple of months in the morning so the curry had to stretch to 10, luckily it was huge. She had an interview yesterday and it went well, its more money and much easier to get to, keep your fingers crossed for her:)
Today need to nip into town to the bank and my son and his GF need some last minute bits to take on their trip.
I am off out with my friend for tea tonight as its her birthday so everyone else is having chippy. I have her present wrapped and ready to go.

Well need to go and get ready for the day. Have a good Wednesday all J x

    Morning all!
Raining here, so washing on the airer and ironing board up already. Am impatiently waiting for the tiler to appear to finish tiling kitchen, and will soon have the MIL invasion, as today is my baby boy's 16th birthday
Where have the years gone, I wonder!
    Have a good day all!

Welcome to the newbies, congrats to those doing well and hugs to those feeling down or poorly.

Raining here today, washing will go on the airers. DD got back from Alton Towers yesterday, glad she managed the drive safely - I know her friend's Mum was worrying that she couldn't manage the motorways!! Didn't manage to get much done yesterday as I had a friend's puppy for the day, I had forgotten how much work they are but he is very cute and got me out for a good walk! Did manage to clean 2 kitchen cupboards but the pup kept helping so I decided it wasn't worth the effort!

Not sure what to do today, I have a self assessment to do for the tax office so I may start that. Also need to go to the library as I have run out of books.

    Take care. XX

I exhausted today, I phoned my DD last night, not sure why, I just felt she needed me. I'm glad I did, she's been on a Child Protection course & needed to talk it through. We talked for almost 2 hours, we discussed strategies to help her cope, I suggested she imagined a 'bin' that she put things in that she felt were too painful to deal with. I also suggested a mantra of 'I can't save them all, I can only protect those here & now' it's a bit clunky, so I'll speak to a friend

Hugs for you and your DD. It was bad enough doing my safeguarding training as they discussed the Baby P case (which for my own sanity I'd avoided in the news :o). I am in awe at anyone who does that sort of job.

Lou - Happy Anniversary for yesterday xx Hope your cake was nice.

Dull and rainy here but hey ho nowt I can do about that. Would be nice to have some dry days over the holidays but have warned mindees mums to send them with wellies and raincoats as I am NOT staying in the house all day :D
Tea is a chicken curry in the SC and I've put a loaf on in the BM. Been a bit slack over making bread recently and want to get back into it. Catching up on housework in a mo, popped out and got DS's uniform for September this morning - glad I did it was really quiet in there. In peak times over the holiday you have to queue to be served  Anyway that's set me back £40 for 2 polo shirts, 2 sweatshirts and 1 t-shirt for PE :eek:

OK DD is bugging me as she wants to play on the computer :rotfl: comes to something when a 3 year old boots me off the lappy!

Hugs and spoons all round. Have a good day OS or not.

Then kids (all 4) and I had a pub lunch which was lovely and the kids were very well behaved and happy. Made me very proud:A

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Only been here a few days but begining to get to know you all. Thanks for being such a great crowd.
Cleared out fridge this morning and found the end of a joint of beef. Sliced it VERY, VERY thinly. Also dug out some veggies on their last legs. Picked out the best of the veg to serve with beef and boiled up the rest with some stock and herbs which when blitzed will be enough soup for a couple of snack meals for two of us. Feel extremely smug.
Still ploughing through washing and ironing Dad's clothes ready for Charity shop. Forgotten I would have to patiently unpick all the name tags that I spent hours sewing on before he went into the care home just a short time ago. I hate sewing too.
Spending quite a bit of time this week replying to letters sent to me when Dad died. The most amazing people have been in touch, people whose lives he touched 50 or 60 years ago. It's very humbling.
It's damp and dismal here today so no gardening. Again. Feel like sitting in front of the fire with some knitting, in fact that's a brilliant idea.

Good luck to all those working in schools who are revving up for the end of term. There's no feeling like it!
