We rent a converted flat with a back garden, my husband is on tenancy agreement and he pays the rent and council tax at the moment. I'm not on the agreement, but at least he put me on council tax. I wish we had a place of our own, as it's upsetting to have to move here and there.
If you feel my post has been useful, " merci" would not go amiss.

We live in our house, it's jointly owned (with the help of Santander :D) by DH and I, we have equal share's in the property, but as I'm a SAHM DH's wages pay all the bills/mortgage, we don't have will's at the moment, but I'm well aware that its something we need to do, especially as we have 2 children.
Like someone else mentioned, we also have never owned property with anyone else or individually, so can't imagine it being any other way lol.

Joint owners on title deeds, 9 months left on joint mortgage funded from the joint account & mirror wills. And MiL (rather naive & oot-of-date) thought we were crazy!

I live with my partner in MY house. The mortgage and council tax are in my name only and it will stay that way because I am a control freak.

I live with OH in his house - he's b.loody fanatical about this dam house and this is why he wont marry me as he cares more about the dam house than he does about our relationship!!!
I've got him bang to rights at the minute though as he wont allow me to pay towards any of the bills (except the phone, internet and Sky bills - I pay the phone and internet plus for ESPN) however I paid off the electricity arrears (quite a lot of money) and have told him firmly I expect it back. Its annoyed him slightly as he has never allowed me to pay towards any of the utility bills (that would be classed as contributing towards the household  I've contributed bleeding hundreds!!) however he had no choice this time but to allow me to pay it.
My Mum bought us a cooker a year or so ago but she's put the warranty etc in my name alone and she's actually said shes prepared to say it was gifted to me alone which he was absolutely furious about.. another household contribution!! I actually pointed out to him that if he were to try and throw me out again (he tried it once) I said I would take everything that was mine. He shut up when he realised he would lose the cooker, his PS3, the phone, the toaster, all the bedding and towels, the DVD player, most of the crockery...
He reluctantly put me on the electoral register but my name isnt on the council tax... its a bit of a bone of contention really..

Just as an aside, did you know that it is possible, simple and inexpensive to end a joint tenants arrangement?

I did. But not in any shares other than 50:50, which I would be happy with. I don't think he can declare himself the owner of 99% of the house without my agreement or a court order....

Actually his will states I get everything anyway, but this way the house falls outside of the estate as do our pensions and life insurances as they are written in trust.

Martin has taught me so much over the last 6 years!

If we were to split, we would sever the joint tenancy anyway, that would only be fair.

Basically is he dies i can live in his house until i co-habit, marry or die. Then it is sold and proceeds to his chosen people.

I like the sound of this, it is basically what I've said in mine (minus the cohabit and marry bit but that makes good sense) giving DH the right to live in my house but ownership of it to my son. I did mine online, I really should do it again properly, did you all go to solicitors to do yours or use will writing services?

My mom and stepdad have lived together in my stepdads house for nearly 16 years – my stepdad bought the house about 15 years before he met and married my mom and we have always know the details of the will/house since they got married.

If my stepdad dies before my mom she is allowed to live there until she dies, re-marries or moves elsewhere and then the house goes to my stepdads kids who can either rent it out or sell it.

We went to a solicitors and the charge was £150.00. Dont know whether that is good or not, didnt shop around to be honest.

I am more than happy with his decision for me to live there as long as i am single. It is his house that he has worked hard to pay for and i told him that i do not want it.
