Hi everyone. Think i must be an old fashioned Nanna, is it just me? but does everything these days that is given to babies from birth onwards appear to be battery operated. My greatest pleasure is having Thomas to myself and just singing to him, I am tone deaf but he listens, I hope he will come to recognize my voice first and not the one of a battery operated something.:hello:What goes around - comes around

I think some of the toys are great, but nothing can compare to a cuddle and a song from someone close, my grandaughter is 4 and half months and as soon as I start singing 'The wheels on the bus' her face breaks into gorgeous smile. I usually get the words wrong but she loves it! When my children were young we had a book full of children's nursery songs including 'Five fat sausages sizzling in a pan' I must do a search and see if I can find something like it.0 -
The graco travel cots with bassinets are excellent so I would very much agree with you choice there! We live in a three story town house too and got one for our twins so it could be in the living room as a safe place to pop them, they found the bassinet level very comfy (we had the full size one, some of the bassinets are only about 2/3rds the size of the travel cot) and slept well in it, it was also fun to put ball pit balls int he travel cot when they were about 1!
When I am a gran i'm going to have the most gorgeous silver cross pram I can get my hands on

A start to granny thread. I am wondering wether to buy premium bonds with £110 I have saved in £2 coins or do I open a bank account for Thomas. Its really mad being a granny, or in my case nanna , theres not a day goes bye when you do not talk about "the granchild" . I used to think these doting grannies were sad but omg I am one of them now, dear hubby is worse than me, I would not change it for the world. We have the most gorgeous silver cross coach built pram we could get our hands on, people stop their cars when we are walking along the prom. Hello they say just wanted to stop and tell you your pram is lovely, I say so is the baby in it. I /we are so content with our beautifull grandson everything in the world is wonderfull. Mind you I want to throttle the nurse who has just given him his second injections and bruised him.:hello:What goes around - comes around

I know what you mean, I've been the same ever since our grandaughter was born, until you are a granny yourself no one can ever understand how great it is. I'm no expert about the premium bonds but I think Martin has written about the pros and cons on them somewhere on this site. I think if it were me, I would rather put the money into a high interest bank/building society account.0
