First Date outfit

I am going on a date in thursday evening, going bowling and then for a quiet drink. Need ideas on what to wear? I was thinking casual because of bowling so skinny jeans, pretty vest top and flat shoes. What do you think?

I am 5' 11 and the guy 6' hence flat shoes (and will have to take them off for bowling anyway). Not really been on many dates so pretty clueless really, never met the guy in person so understandibly nervous.

Any advice appreciated, im so nervous!!

Sounds like a nice outfit for the drink, but do the skinnies have enough stretch for you to bowl? And make sure you don't accidentally flash when you bend over in the vest top!

hope you have a lovely date (I'm well jealous, would love a date!)

Thanks, not had a date in ages so looking forward to it.

Good point about the skinnies and vest top....may have to rethink lol. Just don't want to be too dressy and make the wrong impression. At 24 thought id be getting good at this but its never easy lol.

I'd go for skinny jeans for definite but with a long top if you have one to avoid any accidental flashing!

I think the outfit sounds great - and a little accidental flashing on a date is a good - may guarentee a 2nd.

Becky, my first date with Mr A saw me wearing jeans, a t-shirst and a cashmere cardi, but it was December! As long as you feel comfortable and confident in what you are wearing, then you'll come across as far more sexy than if you don't ifyswim. I agree, that a low cut top could go either way ;). Personally I'd go for something a little higher for bowling, but then when you get your second date, then go for something more ahem revealing.

Hope you have a great time !

I would wear the skinnies with a long floaty top and maybe a small heel for when you go for a drink, you don't want to feel drab compared to other girls in the pub/bar, as you said you have to wear flats at bowling anyway, I would also not be flashing anything, if thats why he wants a second date then he's not for you;)

Now I'm going to put my paranoid mum head on and say that if you haven't met him before, please stay in a busy public space and keep in touch regularly with a friend by mobile, please be safe and enjoy yourself:D

As someone who used to do quite a bit of internet dating, so had my share of first dates, I would just like to add my two pennyworth.

Wear whatever your comfortable in, but more importantly and for future reference,

The best first dates, in my opinion is to meet for an afternoon coffee.

That way if they turn out to have prison tattoos which they had done while inside for GBH on a previous boyfriend :o you are not stuck with them for an entire evening, you can be polite and leave after 20 minutes.

On the other hand, if they turn out to be the partner you will eventually marry you can stay for a second cup of coffee and plan your next 'proper' date :D

Thanks guys, going to try and find something to wear today.

Will be wearing my skinny jeans and probably a casual vest top as previously planned. I don't think i will be flashing, if he wants to see me again i want it to be for the right reasons. Still going to wear flats as i don't feel that confident in heels because of my height.

I will stay in a public place and my friends know where i will be, im pretty clued up on the safety side :)

Got butterflies so just want tomorrow to come quickly now, wish me luck!
