Is a phone covered under warranty after 5 weeks?
I recently purchased a Htc wildfire from 3 store in Milton Keynes. The phone touch screen stopped working after 5 weeks on returning it to the 3 technical department they sent out a letter stating it had water damage and returned the phone as uneconomic repair. On collecting from the store today we replaced the battery and fired the phone up and to our surprise the phone and touch screen were working and we demonstrated to the assistant manager in store. After 5 minutes the touch screen stopped working again, we rebooted and it started to work again. I have requested a replacment as it is only 5 weeks old and has an intermittent fault and is obviously NOT water damaged. They are not interested and so as the phone is under a 2 year manufacturers warranty am I not entitled to a replacement?

if water damaged it may cause a short circuitDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Water damage isn't covered under the warranty. Have you used it in the rain, maybe??

Yes most dont cover water damage and did not know they had water damage idicaters.0

Water damage is detectable and provable...ask them what evidence they have of water damage.0

Check the paper work you got back with it, repair companies always provide photo evidence of liquid damage.0

I have had a success in arguing over liquid damage indicators.
The phone has NEVER been near liquid but the touchscreen ceased to function.
CPW refused to honour an HTC warranty, twice telling me the red LDI invalidated the warranty. I pointed out that the second LDI, inside the phone was white. No progress.
I did live chat with HTC directly, and submitted the phone direct to them. I noted 1) only one of the two LDI was red, and it was the one exposed to atmospheric moisture 2)Apple only invalidate their warranty if all LDIs are red; 3) I did not accept that the red LDI meant the fault was caused by liquid and told them I would pay for an independent lab to investigate, and then sue them for the cost when they found in my favour.
Result: phone returned fixed in 2 days.
FIGHT THEM ALL THE WAY: the LDI is a scam.0
