BR Bank Accounts

No the only 2 BR friendly accounts are the Coop cashminder and Barclays basic. Santander are not BR friendly at all and personally I would not risk it anyway. At least you know the 2 accounts mentioned will not be touched.
Actually I'm with Santander, opened the account 2 months before going BR and my account has stayed open so from my experience I wouldn't say they are not BR friendly.
However, I would suggest opening an account with a BR friendly bank just in case - I wouldn't want anyone to lose access to a month's wage / benefits if they decide not to keep your account open.Feb 2024:

CC2 7804.45
CC3 4221.17
CC4 2053.68
CC5 989.30

Loan 2 5275.22

All I can say from my experience on here and another BR forum I frequent, is that you are very very lucky and one of the tiny minority that seems to slip through the net with different banks. As you say you cannot guarantee that the OP`s account would stay open, hence why I strongly recommend a BR friendly account and will continue to do so.:pB&SC No. 298

I applied for my coop account last Wednesday but heard nothing since. Does anyone know how long this process takes?0

When I applied for mine, nearly three years ago, so things might have changed, I was informed that I had been accepted during the initial phone call. Also I didn't apply until the day after I had gone bankrupt(not recommended).
A month ago I applied for another Cashminder account and was informed at the end of the call that I had been successful.
The main problem usually is that applicants are not on the Electoral role , are you?0 -
Thanks guys! Kepar, yes I am on the electoral roll. They said at the end of the application that it would go to their underwriters :-/0

I will do, thanks. Still feel very scared and reluctant to go down this route of br, but feel it's my only option now. You certainly learn some big lessons from big mistakes :-(0

Hey, it's OK to be scared you know. I was *terrified* going to court. Had never been near 1 before going BR. The ladies in there were utterly lovely. Told me to think of my BR date as a new birth.
The important thing is to learn from your mistakes, we've all been there. And I know those of us who have been through it go "oh its not as bad as you think" etc.... but it's honestly not, and you'll be relieved once its done.

Thanks Rocket. My main worry is the future as I've said on here before. Although people won't necessarily know what I have done, I will know, and worry I will feel like a social outcast. Also, not being able to get a new car in the future, not that i'm that bothered as I haven't done that for nearly 10 years anyway, or get a mortgage with my partner in the future, it puts the burden on them I feel. Don't get me wrong I don't want to take on any more credit I would rather save, but you have that priviledge taken away it seems, and you may need it in years to come. I'm just rambling now.rocketman80 wrote: »Hey, it's OK to be scared you know. I was *terrified* going to court. Had never been near 1 before going BR. The ladies in there were utterly lovely.
