Whats more important location or house?

I think this requires a compromise, if the house doesn't suit your family needs the location won't change that. Although normally I would say location every time!!Slightly bitter0

Most definitely location. The house I'm living in at the moment (rented) is affordable and nice. But the neighbours are some of the worst people I have ever met in my life.
I would rather save up a bit more for a larger deposit than settle in an affordable house that was not in the right area. It's an expensive mistake to make that is not always easy to rectify.Mortgage: Was: £154,495 Oct 2039 Now: £82,340.34 May 2037Swagbucks ~ £155 (2024 ~ £395)Surveys ~ £149.19 (2024 ~ £280.14)Make £2025 in 2025 #5 ~ £964.62 ~ (2024 ~ £2,561.04)0 -
I have a 2 bed terraced in an excellent area of Manchester (Didsbury for those who know it).
I could have bought a house twice the size where my parents live (30miles from manchester, but it is nice) or a house 4 times the size in Moss Side!
You can make a better house, you can't make a better location."I'm not from around here, I have my own customs"
For confirmation: No, I'm not a 40 year old woman, I'm a 26 year old bloke!0 -
Its all about compromise, I think you will never get either perfect. But I think location has to be slightly ahead of house.
I bought the worst house in the best location I could afford but human nature being what it is I would like best of both worlds.0 -
Location every time. We chose to move back to my home town (renting) because it's such a good area (schools, transport, facilities, etc). When we were in a position to buy we wanted to stay local and are so happy to have found a lovely home in a lovely area (fingers crossed for exchange next week!). Be patient... you CAN have the best of both worlds!0

That's why there is a programme called Location Location Location, and not one called House...
