Mobile phone contract help
Hi,
I am looking for some help with regards to a couple of mobile phone contracts I have with Orange.
Basically I have ended up getting myself into quite a bit of debt over the years, long story short I have recently entered into a DMP for that and I am slowly getting on top of things, however.....
Basically my phone contracts with Orange don't fall into the DMP, although they use it to help calculate your incomings and outgoings. The total a month for these contracts is £109 (I know, don't ask). The first of which doesn't run it's course till Feb 12, the over two till Jan 12.
Last month I wasn't able to pay due to some unexpected bills and it looks like it is going to be the same this month totalling £218 that I owe them.
Can anybody give me some advice as to what I should do about this? I fully appreciate I took these contracts up and as such I have no one to blame but myself, Orange don't seem to want to know in terms of cancelling the contracts early or coming to some form of agreement for future payments.
Anybody in the industry know what action Orange are likely to take, how long they give you before they start getting heavy etc....
Many thanks all - Alex

Call orange again and tell them NOW. They are unlikely to cancel the contracts or reduce them but it's better to tell them than wait till it gets out of hand.
They may suspend the service (You'll still have to pay it though) or work out a plan but better do that than leave it to get worse.

What GJ says. Do it now.
The worst thing you can do is not talk to them. Call the billing team, explain the problems and they might be able to do something for you.0 -
Thanks for the advice.
I think that's best, I am off on holidy tomorrow so will call then when I get back. I think I may in the mean time make a contribution offer of say £25 just to show that I am willing to work with them and I am not just refusing to pay because I don't want to.0 -
Hi Alex,
If you are struggling to pay you need to speak to the Collections Team as soon as possible they may be able to offer you a few options to help. You can call them directly on 07973100178.
Hope this helps,
