Exactly, buying in a suppressed market means you get more bang for your buck.

I've been slowly increasing my investments over the last 12 months to see all gains (and more) wiped out this last week but given we are in it for the long run I'd rather spend a few years buying more at a cheap price that continually adding when the market is high!

It wasnt just Friday there was a retrace all last week. Buying in now might not be such a bad idea, but the FTSE and other markets are in a bit of a downtrend so waiting is also prudent. Perhaps invest in stages, put some in now, and then if we go lower buy in as we drop? The funds you have chosen are of good quality but obviously you have to judge which exposure you want yourself......good luck

Do you need all three of these? Emerging markets funds will cover Latin America and some Asian contries - but not all. Might be an idea to check on the country allocations and also the share selections - top twenty for each fund at least - just to see if there is any overlap.
