For those thinking of ordering from Steel Seal:
- they use a 0871 number and not a geographical landline
- there is no trading address displayed on their website
- whois shows the Registrant as Adam Weaver and "The registrant is a non-trading individual who has opted to have their address omitted from the WHOIS service."The man without a signature.0 -
this place isn't barracaded at all.. they were gates wide open yesterday with the pickups still in the warehouse and getting the bikes onto the back of a trailer. Lots of cars were there too... suspicious if you ask me!!0

Proppa are now in voluntary liquidation. See the front page of their website:
http://www.proppa.com/Trading has not been easy for the company over the last few years regardless due to the world wide recession with the Automotive industry being one of the hardest hit sectors. The company was steered through successfully due to the hard work put in by Directors and Key staff. The company had its best month ever in March 2011 and due to a previous computer systems failings decided to cut its losses with its current provider, as after 12 months of trial and lots of errors with significant costs to Proppa Cars Ltd to put these errors right, it was decided that another computer system again at significant expense should be invested in. This would be required to support the onward success and growth of the business. Subsequently a further investment was made in this equipment and software.
However the success in March was followed unexpectedly by the companies worst month in April not only due to the down turn in retail orders due to 4 bank holidays and customers associated holidays but this downturn was compounded due to the earthquake and associated problems in Japan as all accessories are supplied for Japanese Pickups. It saw the delivery times of the Pickups significantly increased and therefore effectively no custom for Pickup accessories no matter how hard we tried as without a new Pickup truck being bought from a dealership we could not sell any accessories. This has meant monthly turnover has dropped drastically. The company has high fixed costs with warehousing and offices of over 25,000 square feet so costs could not be reduced quickly. A further £75,000 loan was introduced to the company via a Director in an effort to bridge the gap and see the company through this difficult period. Unfortunately sales continued to fall off and after seeking extensive professional advice on the viability of the company and routes through these tough times, it was concluded that the company could no longer continue to trade in its current position and it should convene meetings of members and creditors to place it into voluntary liquidation.
We would like to thank everyone for the support they have shown through our growth and the support they have shown through these tough times. We would also like to express our sincere apologies for anyone that has been affected due to this unfortunate outcome.
If you have any issues regarding card payments please contact your card provider directly and they will be able to advise you accordingly. For all trade suppliers please contact the Liquidators in writing at:

That was the landlord emptying the place possibly I have good picture of the concrete sleepers in front of the gates and that could only be down to the landlord doing that or Quadzilla getting out the sale or return goods they were possibly allowed to remove.0

Amazing since he still hasn't paid his staff and the company is still operating according to Companies House.0
-
He has kept at least one of the sales guys who is now flogging steel seal so anyone wanting any info who doesn't get there money back can badger them as they were responsible for selling goods they knew they would never supply.
What a bunch of total tools they should run and hide.0 -
These people took my money for a Quad bike paid by Visa debit on Wednesday 20th July. £2189.99 to be exact. Obviously not going to receive anything now but it is inconceivable thay were not aware that they could not deliver. Very angry as my 14 year old son had spent a year saving up half the amount - I had agreed to do the other half. They weren't picking up the phone on Thursday so they obviously new perfectly well. Cheating lying sh*Ts.:mad:0

As you paid by Visa Debit card you will be entitled to the same protection as those using a Visa Credit Card. Your issuing bank may try to bluff or blag you otherwise. Call them up and make an initial report. They may do the whole thing over the phone or send you out a form to complete. If your bank do try it on then immediately make a formal complaint and threaten to use the Financial Ombudsman Service. The man without a signature.0 -

Sorry to hear of your misfortune but just to let you know that We (4x4 Accessories & Tyres Ltd) bought a big chunk of the stock from Proppa so when you get your money back we should hopefully be able to supply you, and don't worry weve been going for 18 years, and are one of the biggest suppliers of accessories and tyres for 4x4/SUV vehicles in the country!! Look on our website just search under our company name at Leeming Bar, North Yorkshire. But obviously we've a lot more gear as the stock we bought from proppa hasn't been put up yet, you can find some of it on ebay though, or give us a call 01677 425555.0 -
