The seller states 'free shipping' in the listing, which is offered to AU buyers, not UK, so this is obviously targeting the Australian market, not UK.

To me it looks like a new seller who decided to sell this in Australia (either because of demand, or specs), and was right, looking at the level of sales.
They opened a shop because it's cheaper to list, they probably got a bit confused with postage, they should have used the "delivery from outside AU", and ebay will tell AU buyers they will receive the items within 1-6 days (I bet many will not have realised it's coming from the UK, we all know buyers don't read listings properly....) .

It could also be an Aussie living in the UK (they don't appear to be registered as business, but if their account is Australian, just with location as UK, it would not show).

They also have another listing, but in US dollars, so they like to sell internationally, it seems.

But it doesn't make sense because of the voltage thing. If you are in the UK and want to sell internationally then surely you would sell to the country that the voltage is correct for. The voltage on the item is 110v so why sell to Aus who's voltage is 120 when you could just sell to the US?

I'm not trying to argue, I so hope you are right and they will be sent out. I'm just trying to look at as many options.

Two days ago there was a scammer selling the same dehydrators so you do get a bit wary.

They sell for twice the price in Australia.

..I must remember you come from another part of the fourm, where people are nicer to each other :)
we are a bit grumpy here :D

I hadn't seen the voltage thing initially, if that's correct they are breaking Australian law.
It's not unusual for UK sellers to list abroad, particularly for certain specific items that may sell better there (I remember someone selling surfing kit there).

I think we'll now have to add dehydrators to baby stuff in the list of high risk items, it seems....

Looking at the sales history, I don't think all the buyers are Australian, as many seemed to have purchased when it was the middle of the night there.
If it wasn't for the free postage mentioned in the listing I would have said they were targeting the US market while paying less in fees (if it works out cheaper, I don't know, fees are very different on those two sites), but they charge postage to the US too.

If someone wants to find out more they could post on the Australian ebay forum (mind you, it's early morning there, it may take a while before you get a response...)

Yes sorry about the voltage query, I posted at the same time you explained it. And your comments about our bit being nicer... its because we are all like Mrs Wicker Basket :D

Well 25 sold now, I bet there won't be any left by the time I get up in the morning!

See bold highlight in Terra_firma's post. If you go to the Australian site https://www.ebay.com.au the search results index actually has location and feedback score in it unlike in the UK so there's less of an excuse for a buyer to not know. Would be nice if they added that to our Ebay site.

Yes I see what you mean, thank you. Saying that, they are offering an item that is usually hundreds of pounds for just £12. Plus giving free or extra cheap shipping. It would cost a fortune to 'sell' nearly a hundred of these.

If you click Customise view on ebay uk search results you can add item location and seller feedback.

The listing has been removed now, which is really annoying as I wanted to know what "it" is and now I never will!
Oh dear, here we go again.
