Presumably there is something available on the market that will do what you require but I have used a low tech solution to do this.
An old microcassette recorder connected to the 'phone line with one of them double socket thingys that you plug into your phone line, like the ones that you use for your phone and your router. The low tech drawback however is that you have to press the record button before you/they answer the 'phone and change the batteries occassionally.0 -
Many thanks for the advice I am really pleased to know about this really cheap solution.Slimming World at target0

Is it not illegal to record phone conversations unless you are licensed to do so?0

Actually thats incorrect, the other party does not need to know that the call is being recorded unless you plan to release it to a third party. If its for personal use then there is no requirement.0 -

Not quite.
Legally, you don't have to inform them that they are being recorded, if the recording is for your own personal use.
If the recording is going to be played back to a 3rd party, then you need to inform them...

Depends on who's being recorded.
if it's a private individual then you need to inform them the call may be recorded *if* it's going to be used.
Good thing if it's a call centre, they know they may be recorded so you technically don't need to inform them. (you know all those "your call may be recorded for training and security purposes" you have to sit through.)Laters
