selling books?

Options
Hi everyone,

I have a very large number of books I can sell, most are in excellent condition, some are in good condition.

Does anyone know where I can sell them? eBay isn't worth it as by the time I pay the final value fee and postage, I'm left with very little profit.

It is very difficult to make money from books online I am afraid :(

If you can't make decent money on eBay, you are unlikely to be able to make money anywhere.

It is quite difficult to get a decent price for any hardback or paperback book, as we now live in an age of technology and digital downloads. The obvious choice would be Amazon.co.uk or .com, but bare in mind that the competition is high and their own Kindle, have a huge library of downloadable e-books which are selling at a ratio of 3 to 1 against traditional books which is quite concerning.

I don't think I've seen this asked here before.

Why not try green metropolis, probably best for paperbacks from what I can see. Hope that this helps.

depends how much you want for them.

you could sell them in a job lot, collection only on ebay.

or at a car boot sale.

but, generally unless they are new, special or valuable then 50p to £1 is about it really.

Try to find bookstores or newsstands that sells 2nd hand books. May be you can negotiate to sell it with them on a profit much larger than the profit you have from ebay. Or else, I think try the collection items on ebay.

Personally, I'd give them to charity....they'll get a few quid for selling them, you'll get the satisfaction of having done your bit.

Secondhand bookshops are fast disappearing in the UK as they are having to compete with eBay, Amazon and charity bookshops. Except for the rare and antiquarian items, the money just isn't being spent as it was 5 years ago.

I sell books on green metropolis - this will earn you the most but may take a longer time.
All you do is input the ISBN number and book condition and it is listed. You can get uptp £3 per book.
Look atfer the Pennies and the ££££'s will care for themselves :money:
