Selling books

Options
Hi,

I'm sorry if a similar thread has been here before (I looked at several pages of threads and I couldn't find the answer to my question). Please could anyone tell me where to sell books? I already posted them on Ebay and Amazon but are there any other websites? Many thanks.

If you can't sell them on Amazon or ebay then they are probably not worth selling and just worth trying a charity shop.

When we downsized I did wonder about this too, but no.1 son said it wasn't worth it, what with postage so we took them all to the scout shop.
have you got an indoor market, I've just remembered that a few (!) years ago hubby took lots of man books (westerns and all that) to a second hand stall and got a few bob.

Green metropolis is a good book selling website. Ive used it a few times with good success, i think its a minimum of £3 per book (good if selling smaller books)

I can second Green Metropolis, but to be entirely honest with you, making decent money out of selling unwanted books online is a really tough gig.

I've been selling out-of-print books and second-hand books for many years and it's not as easy as it used to be. I agree, if they don't sell very well on Amazon or Ebay then there's not much point. However, if you're prepared to list them, sit and wait, they may sell on Amazon eventually. Have you tried grouping them together on Ebay? For instance, I may sell a batch of books by the same author or subject and they tend to sell better sometimes.

Just watch the postage cap on books on ebay. You can't post a great many books for a maximum of £3.25.

Try contacting your old college or local college and they may offer the books to students.
When I finished college, I told the tutors what books I had and then when they recommended the books to students they said that x number of students are selling them second hand at this price. I sold a couple this way.
Or maybe contact the college library and donate or they may give you somthing for them.
Or ask to put up posters on campus at college or uni for the books. New term starts in September so that may be a good time to offer them.
