Urgent help! RE: cat

I am very tempted to pay the vet myself to be honest, but probably if I do I'll be in trouble with Mr B. He must be sick and tired of my generosity. Since I've gained some weight I bought a blouse for myself the other day for £35 so I thought I could return it and pay for !!!!! to be spayed. Far more important than having a new blouse. There must be a charity out there that can help though.....the RSPCA has plenty of money....have no idea what they do with it all.0

The kind who don't get them neutered / vaccinated
And the kind who then advertise them on a site, not specifying they are not neutered, have leg problems and are also probably pregnant!!!

Hi all,
Just a quick update, To say, That we now have her here, When she arrived, She was OTT scared, She has been locked in a bedroom for 6 &1/2 months of her life!
In fairness to the person who owned her, He really seemed upset that he was leaving her & said he just has no idea on how to look after cats & really thought he was doing the right thing by her.
She is booked in on wed for her spay! :T
BUT...
She isn't coping here, She is really stressed out with the dog! She seems fine with the other cats. I have had no choice but to ask cats protection to look for a emergency foster home because she is sick everytime she has contact with the dog!
Is anyone on here a registered foster carer with another rescue's?
I'm sure if we club together they will stand more of a fighting chance with finding her a more suitable home!Future goals:
Become debt free.
Beat Depression.
Be happy & healthy0 -

Well done you!!:T
I'd ask on Cat Chat & Purrs as they are basically more able to help than CPL who are overstretched (as are all animal shelters) & the are guides there for cat care, inc introducing puss to pup.
Hope it all goes well for you & puss.

Hi everyone, Just thought i would update really!
COOKIE has now been spayed! She was seen this morning at 9!
During this time, All rescues other then 2 washed their hands off her, With one evening telling me to just let her go out & get lost!
So they will be getting a letter of complaint very shortly!
However, This morning i have managed to find her a forever home! :T
The lady lives locally & runs a rescue for animals like cookie, She has told me that she will keep Cookie & that my OH & I can come & visit anytime!
She is coming with me to the vets to collect cookie later this evening!
I cant help feeling like i have let cookie down, But i'm also very excited for her!

Thank you to everyone once again for helping me & cookie! xFuture goals:

I'm interested to know who's helped and who hasn't (especially the one you're complaining about!) will you PM me? I'm keen to help the local rescue centres but I'd hate to think I'm giving money/donations to places that aren't helping those in need!0

Oh, that's absolutely wonderful news!:j
Happy to hear she's "been done" and hope she's not feeling too groggy this evening:)
As to finding her a new forever home already, that's just fantastic!:D
You have in no way let her down - you took her in when many wouldn't and "turned their back" on her and saved her from a life of litter after litter after litter.....
And then, to top that off, you realised that she wouldn't be happiest with you and found her someone who'll give her a great home and will love and care for her for the rest of her days (no mean feat with one so young). So, IMHO :AI'm interested to know who's helped and who hasn't (especially the one you're complaining about!) will you PM me? I'm keen to help the local rescue centres but I'd hate to think I'm giving money/donations to places that aren't helping those in need!
I often wonder about this too - I've sponsored a dog through a very large national rescue for many, many years and have recently been wondering if my money is well spent (they wouldn't let me adopt from them which p'd me off a bit). I'm seriously thinking of cancelling it and supporting a more local charity.
With my local cat rescue, they do fantastic work and I've considered volunteering at the weekends but unfortunately it's an 80 mile round trip so not really feasible fuel expense wise and I couldn't do it in the winter as the roads are a nightmare around here (very rural).
I don't give them "cash" as I struggle with the idea of the money being used to pay workers during the week - even though I know this has to be done - so I prefer to give food and maybe not so obvious things like washing powder and make beds for them etc.Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
