PUK code

ok my 11 yr old was given my old mobile(in prep for secondary school ) i took it to a shop (key and shoe shop that also do mobile phone repairs etc) paid £10 which i thought was a lot but then the phone worked fine for 2 weeks now she gives it back to me saying she does not know the code i have no idea why it`s blocked it`s self again and not keen to dish out another £10 thinking it may block again ? please help ,i know very little about phones as you`ve pobably guessed by now !!

    The PUC code is what you get if you enter the pin unlock wrong too many times.

    If you call the network they can generate the code to clear it for you (for free).

    Best to tell your 11 year old to use a pin code they can remember next time :)

    The phone was not locked as far as i know unless she tried to lock it with a new number then promptly forgot it which is highly possible thanks again ,better call orange then,it`s on a PAYG with then can they unlock it ?

    Yup, no problem.

    Just call CS, clear security, tell them what message you're getting and they'll generate the code for you.

    Its a different code each time it locks, so don't save it in case it happens again, it won't work !

    Its not different every time. Many networks provide you with the PUK (and PUK2) in printed form with the SIM.

    I think you're confusing PUK lock with network unlocking the phone (the latter is what you had done at the shop). No connection.
    No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
