Hi all,
Just some questions on getting a PAYG sim for an iphone 4.

Will I be able to use skype with a PAYG sim?
Which network is best for this? (I'm getting the iphone from apple so should be unlocked and free to choose a network)
Can I use facetime/Skype for free with my home broadband?

for starters you can do anyting on your own wifi, skype, facetime it is totally not dependant on what network you choose as it is none of their business.

as for which network to use, the fact you want to use skype over 3G basically means you will have to choose either 3 mobile or vadafone as they are the only networks that will not restrict what you can use their 3G network for. personally I would go with 3 mobile as you can pay £15 and that gives you unlimited data for a month which will be vey much of use when using skype (esp if you use video skype)

as for facetime currently it is apple that is restricting it's use on 3G and forcing it to be wifi only, so you will be forced to only use that on a wifi network, (though if you jailbreak the phone you can 'trick' it to think it is on wifi when it is on 3G) also it is rumored that in iOS5 (coming this autumn) will allow facetime to be used on 3G.

Three is good choice 15 pounds month unlimted (really is unlimted) you can also teether with three

Only problem with three with unlocked phone is it may not work on three but sims are free and skype can be used on three without any credit using there skype that is

Next choice would be GiffGaff uses 02 network 10 pounds month unlimted (really is unlimted as well) saves yourself a fiver a month your not allowed to teether with GiffGaff but it is possible I tested for 10 minutes tehy never threw me off lol.

Good thing with paygo your only stuck with both of these networks for a month so see what one suits your needs.
