How much is your car tax?

My actual question at the start of this thread was how much car tax do you pay, as we have only just realised that there is quite a difference, and we now have a website to look at thanks to this thread, we WILL KEEP OUR CAR, firstly because we DONT WANT A LITTLE CAR,secondly it costs no more to run, except in petrol, than smaller ones, and with the mileage we do, we are very satisfied with it. Our insurance as somebody asked the question, and we are not starting on that one, is £209 fully comprehensive, husband and named driver, ie wife. I will not be posting again on this thread.

You did 2,000 miles last year. If you changed the car from one that did 30mpg to one that did 50mpg, you'd save the princely sum of £120 in a year. Plus maybe £75 on road tax.

Plus you'd get a car that you knew nothing about and probably hadn't been looked after as well as you've looked after yours.

And if you wanted, say, a small car costing £2,500, you'd probably only get £1,500 for yours in part exchange. Hey, in five years, you'd be ahead! Unless there were any unexpected repair bills, of course. ;-)
