Help...I cant hear my phone

I use a Nokia mobile,2760, using Tesco mobile, on a pay-as-you-go tariff, but I have found that I have great difficulty finding a ring tone that I can hear. Being of mature years, hearing is not as sharp as it used to be, and the 'mushy' tones on offer just vanish into the general background noises of life.
What I need is a clear LOUD tone, if fact, not unlike the sound of the old fashioned bells fones used to have! and one I can at least hear from another room.
Any suggestions? I dont really want to cart a phone around all day long, so at least a tone loud enough to hear when it's in the handbag/laptop case.

Choose one you think is loud enough and download free to PC and then transfer to mobile.

Sorry to ask the obvious, but have you already set the volume to maximum?

yes macman, I have turned up the volume, I thinl its the general 'white noise' that stops me from picking out the sounds. Maybe I should get an ear trumpet!
