Meanwhile so did the bullish commentators, incorrectly calling the soft landing all years between 2002 and 2007.
this statement alone proves that geneer has no idea what he is talking about. how can someone be 'bullish' about a market and be calling stagnation. its a contradiction in terms. geneer really is a moron.

Oh No. Please don't start that one again. Geneer came up with a bunch of people who said house prices were going to go up by, I think, 16% and to him that was them calling a soft landing.
His reasoning defies any logic so at times best left well alone.0 -

How can someone who didn't know what a bull or bear even was just a week ago, suddenly know all about terms, stagnation etc?
Sounding very much like our long lost chucky there too dear. Out comes the moron line. One of chucky's fav words. Just do a forum search for the pages of results.
Your posting tone has changed so wildly in just a week, bizzare.0 -

I have a theory that JD may be a bit depressed over the whole affair, and Geneer is actually his wife, who has assumed on online identity in an attempt to bolster his self esteem.
It's the only explanation that makes any sense.
Of course Heathcode (formerly fubra) has historically been one of the more shouty crackers forumites when it comes to good ol' JD.
I guess he has good reason.
I mean we was a self proclaimed card carrying bear in 2003, before
becoming a born again bull in mid 2007, and buying (1/2) a house months before the bubble burst. As a born again, naturally he is obliged to destroy his former idols.
Its part of the initiation process.
He's practically a bull albino monk.
Poor old Heathcote. If only he had read JDs prediction that prices wouldn't crash until 2007 things could have been very different.0 -

Or if he had stayed renting as did JD since 2002 he could have been happier (but probably not).0 -

This is almost in a unique language that only those who frequent a small number of house price forums would understand. Put this in front of 99% of people and they wouldn't be able to make the first guess at what it was talking about. I'm not sure I understand any of it to be honest.
Who is Heathcote?
Who is fubra?
Who is JD?
What's a card carrying bear?
Who are the former idols?
What is the initiation process and what is it an initiation to?
What is a bull albino monk?0 -

Since you're clearly interested......
Heathcote = Fubra.
JD is Jonathan Davis, the person under discussion in this thread.
Card carrying bear is an analogy suggesting full membership of the group knows as Bears.
"Former idol" would be someone you once, but no longer, worshiped.
Theres no real initiation process to an imaginary "club".
However it is infered that as a "born again" (another religious reference) it is neccesary to destroy your former idol (idolitary being a religious phrase you see).
A joking reference to Heathcotes/Fubras historical hard-on for JD.
The Albino monk reference is a pop reference to the albino monk in the Davinci Code. See, he's a bit mental too.
I'm sure you can join the rest of the dots together yourself.
Or maybe not.
If you struggle with simple, obvious analogies, you might want to give shakespear a miss.
Probably want to stick to boy wizards.
(thats a harry potter reference in case you couldn't figure it out).
:rotfl:Thats the thing about playing the daft laddie Cleaver.
You end up looking daft.0 -

I try and think of these threads as like an online version of Lord of the Flies, albeit with less intellect or maturity on display. They are entertaining in their own way, but I wouldn't expect them to enlighten people about either house prices or economic issues.0 -

I'm put in mind of Crime and Punishment, myself. And not just the title either.Living for tomorrow might mean that you survive the day after.
It is always different this time. The only thing that is the same is the outcome.
Portfolios are like personalities - one that is balanced is usually preferable.
