I was also bad for bargain reductions and special offers, but like you threw a lot of it out, I don't have a big freezer so was just no way to keep it. I found the best way to stop that was keep a log of what I threw out, there used to be a thread on here. Aswell as it being a good place to have to confess to which entered my head as I went to pick up that BOGOF chilled meat that I wouldn't use and didn't have room for in the freezer people also suggested what could have been done with the wastage.
Added my delivered fruit and veg tonight £6.One day I might be more organised...........

I am absolutely delighted to have kept within my budget for the first week. At the beginning of the week I was counting every penny I spent but then realised that a few things I had counted for were budgeted separately (sons haircut eg). Wasn't too difficult but then cupboards etc are still relatively full and didn't need to buy petrol. That will be the test when all is back to normal !! Gulp xx5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60
Currently CC £23,674.36 /£14,895.41/£14315.42
Mortgage £28,214.65/ £26,254.71/ £25,746.43
By end 2020 I want CC at £ 19,000.00.
By end 2021 I want CC at £10,000.000 -

Well, I'm not sure how I'm doing so far this month. At the beginning of the week, we got some bits from Sainsbury's to tide us - bits to tide us over until the delivery and fruit, veg etc. It came to £16.64 but should have been more - my friend gave me some cheese from her New Year's cheese board that she didn't like, so that saved a few pennies!
Our delivery then arrived on Wednesday. Purely thanks to serendipity, I managed to order exactly the right amount to fill our cupboards and freezer - nothing more, nothing less! :rotfl:
The delivery was 15 mins late, which didn't bother me but we got a £10 voucher to use on our next order - am v pleased with that!:T
Dbf got some milk and fruit yesterday which was another £1.62 but necessary. Am stopping off later to get other fresh bits and a chicken that we need for next week but that weren't feasible to order on-line (largely due to the size of our freezer!). That shouldn't cost too much, but it's hard to judge how it's going overall. Have managed to claw off a few bits from the list as we've decided to go for a meal tomorrow evening for Dbf's birthday and have finally applied for a Tesco clubcard, so every little helps...
Aargh am becoming obsessed with OS :rotfl:
New flat, new budget, new commitment to MSE!

2nd shop of the month today.
Came in at £19.14 but this included some bargains to go away in next years christmas hamper. christmas cake mix, cranberry sauce, bread sauce mix, chestnut puree and apricot glaze, 2 sirloin steaks for Valentines day, 1 duck for easter, 40 m of christmas wrapping paper along with 1 box of christmas cards and gift tags and 2 Chilly soft toys that DD was missing and were reduced to 64p each.
Plus 18 pints of organic milk found in the reduced chiller and now residing in my freezer which cost me the grand total of £2.16 for all 18 pintsOrganised people are just too lazy to look for things
F U Fund currently at £2500 -
I'm not doing all that well... I have done a big shop, ordered a veg & fruit box and I've spent about £80 so far... need to add it up later when I get home! Although saying that the stuff I've bought will probably last me for most of the month, so as long as I don't spend too much more I might be ok!0

Im pleased with what I have spent so far which is only £23.89 since the beginning of the month. The only thing I can se me needing to buy for the coming week is eggs, yoghurt for my daughter and milk. Bread would usually be on my weekly list but my mum owns a little caffe which I work on on a Sunday and she usually gives me bread and breadcakes that she would otherwise throw out. I still have a dozen breadcakes in the freezer, the loaf of bread she gave me is almoast gone but I have my breadmaker on as I type so I wont be needing to buy any for a while.0

We've spent £8.36 since the beginning of the month. The freezer is stocked to bursting so apart from nuts, various pulses and beans, milk, and fruit and veg (which we currently have loads of anyway) there should be nothing to buy until february.
Well that's the plan anyway. I just can't decide on a good budget for the above so that's my next job.0 -
Well I am so proud of myself, end of day 5 of January and have still not spent any grocery money.
Have been using powdered milk, which I've made up and just taken bread out of the freezer.
Luckily I get free bread, milk, butter, jam, tea, coffee and juice at work, so do not need those things whilst at work. Just take filling for bread to work. I also worked for 18 hours on Wednesday, 07h30 until 02h00 on Thursday morning so got fed at work on Wednesday evening and slept most of Thursday LOL.
Spent the day cleaning and catching up with my sister online, so no money spent today either.
Know this won't last, but am hoping to do my best.
Thanx for all the help and support from everyone here, it's great to read all the posts and they do encourage me alot.
