Vanquis Credit Card question

            Ok thanks for that everyone.
Will it be ok then to leave the DD in place and pay off the balance in full manually online? I'm just concerned that the DD will go out when I have already paid the balance in full therefore incurring a charge for putting the card in credit.
Be carfull with this because they will try take the DD even though you have already paid that balance, Virgin did this to me recently then charged me £12 for returned DD even though minimum payment was received before DD date.0 -
with Vanquis you get a statement every month, if your account is clear on that date, your DD will read £0 and so no money will come out of your account the following month. If you have a balance on your statement, the DD will have an amount to pay. Even if you make this payment before thee DD is due, that amount will still be paid from your account.0

I carnt see how they could unless they wrote payment by direct debit is specifically wrote into there terms and conditions.
They probably have a clause in their terms and conditions saying they reserve the right to withdraw the credit limit etc without notice.
You might remember the whole Egg saga, where (imo) the customers they weren't making money on, had their accounts cancelled without much notice.Feb 2024:

CC2 7804.45
CC3 4221.17
CC4 2053.68
CC5 989.30

Loan 2 5275.22
Total £30,567.920 -

This is what I have done, and no they do not take the DD if you have paid off the amount owing.:pB&SC No. 298

Have you got a DD set up and when do you pay the amount owing?
Hi Kep, yes I have got a DD set up but what I usually do is pay off the total amount owing 4 or 5 days after using it, I never leave a balance on it, then again the limit is only £250 anyway. I also check the account everyday online as well to ensure it is running smoothly.:pB&SC No. 298

By doing that do you still get a 'green tick' on your credit file for that month even though you have received a statement with a zero balance?Hi Kep, yes I have got a DD set up but what I usually do is pay off the total amount owing 4 or 5 days after using it, I never leave a balance on it, then again the limit is only £250 anyway.
