Mobilephoneexchange avoid at all costs
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/1582241
Sadly only this morning I discovered a friend has fell for this shower. Offered nearly £30 then just £6 because it was (there usual) excuse, it was scratched. AVOID AT ALL COSTS IMO.

Just wanted to let you know of a very bad experience using the mobile phone cashback comparison tools linked from the site.
We in NO WAY blame MSE for this, but want it to be a warning to other users.- We did a comparison for a 3G iphone and found mobilephoneexchange.co.uk to be the best offer at £143
- We sent a phone out to them special delivery (£5.10) and they then e-mailed us telling us because of surface scratches they had reduced the valuation down to £36
- We refused this and requested the phone back, at which point they raised the offer to £110
- We insisted we wanted the phone back and were told we would have to pay £10 to receive the phone back
- We have paid this but are obviously aggrieved at the whole experience

With respect - and I do not mean to criticise you for opting to try this - I don't know why anyone would want to use these rather than selling the mobile phone privately over eBay. It is just adding a middleman to the equation.0

Sadly, I am joining the list of people "done over" by this company. I phone 3GS 16GB valued at £121. Just received the email this morning saying they have revalued it, because of a small crack, to £54. This phone was perfect when it left me, wrapped in bubble wrap, and put in a small cardboard box. I took photographs of its perfect condition before I sent it. It could not possibly have been damaged in transit. I asked for it to be sent back but.... I obviously have to pay £10 for the privilege of getting my own property back. I have told them that if, when it does come back, it is in any way damaged, cracked, broken or otherwise I will be reporting them to Trading Standards.
PLEASE AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!!!0 -

So why couldn't it have been damaged in transit? do you think it was taken care of whilst in the hands of royal mail? :rotfl:
If it is damaged or cracked then your only claim is with royal mail for doing the damage.
Seriously trading standards because they have received a phone that has been damaged, it seems you are venting at the wrong company0 -

+1 especially as iphones are suposed to be highly desirable
I suppose the reality hits, but a private sale should fetch nearer £2000
