The good thing is Horace, if you have a budget and requirements, agents can always find other things for you.

Personally I LOVE my metal windows and just have blinds and interlined curtains to help with insulation in the winter...

Whoop whoop whoop - I have been approached by the agency Randstad as they have seen my details on Caterer.com - the upshot is that I have an interview with them on Wednesday morning because they have a couple of event sales jobs that they want to put me forward for - the jobs pay £14-£16K which is fine by me because when you have been living on less than minimum wage for quite a while then this salary seems like riches.:D

Greenbee - as parents would be buying the house, they have exacting standards that have to be met.

Great new Horace... Although I can see that house hunting to your parents requirements is going to keep you busy too. Have a look on sites like rightmove and primelocation etc to see what else is available...

I have been asked to take along details of 5 jobs that I would like - there is one that is quite basic but haven't included that one but I have found 4 others that are not basic and could net me a decent wage. I have found one that I would absolutely adore to have although I do not have the degree they are asking for, I do have the knowledge and some of the experience they are looking for. Time to start including the PR work that I spent 2yrs doing on a voluntary basis for a National Motorcycle Club, and mentioning my man management skills having managed staff in the past. I know about CRM systems and email marketing as I have done both and have a CRM system at home (although I have been to lazy to use it). Some jobs would involve a bus trip (city centre) but others would require me to drive to them - one is in a not very nice part of town and I was there for an event last year and was forced to park in a side street (it is in an area where shootings are rife:eek:).

Now I need to sort out my CV - must remember to print it on white paper not yellow.

Interview went well this morning - I have been given my CV to rejig and re-submit but I now know what I need to amend to make me sound sooper dooper. The agency is great - more proactive as opposed to reactive. Most of the agencies in town have said that I am unemployable but this one has said they look at the qualities of the person as well as what is written on paper.

Things are looking up - you never know you could be chatting to the next Conference Manager of a new hotel being built in Brum:D

I got myself a nice cake to celebrate (just carrot cake but from my favourite cafe) too.

Must remember that when I go to the eye hospital on Monday that I take £3.80 for the bus because the fares have gone up - I shoved £3.60 in the the machine today not realising the price had gone up. At least I can travel on the bus all day for £3.80.

Yep, after faffing about with my CV I have submitted it to R*ndstad and emailed them to say that I would want an absolute minimum salary of £16K (this is because I have seen a job with a starting salary of £14K rising to £16K..now I would accept this job if offered but only at the higher rate). Ideally, I would like more but i am trying to be realistic.

I have been to sign on today and saw my personal advisor and he as put me on a 4 week, 3 day week training course at the local college that I must attend. This will give me some qualifications and get me into work mode because I have been unemployed for a while now.

Got nagged the other night about my breakfast group but I can do without the criticism because I had acted upon their advice before and look where it got me..on the dole!

I am waiting to phone the Benefits Delivery line as I need to ask for a Proof of Benefit Letter and then I can submit that with my divorce papers (I still need to complete them) - but I cannot get through on the phone and I could not use the phones in the jobcentre because they were in use - people seem to be permanently glued to them.

Got leered at by a drunken chav at the bus stop - I had started to walk home but then remembered I had a birthday card to post so turned round and then got nobbled by the chav. He reeked of beer and urine and demanded to know my name so I said I was called Fred..then all I could hear was him and his chavvy mates cat calling after me down the road. Coming back I stayed on the other side of the road and used a different pelican cross to avoid them.
