Venue rung with numbers for meeting tomorrow.
Katie Bard phoned and it seems there are no part time jobs or part time temp jobs to be had with them but they will keep my details on file..yeah right...not to worry I am registered with Reed anyway.
Ignored phone earlier when I saw who it was, no message left on voicemail.
Anyway, must do minutes now and circulate and book steel band (or rather one man and his steel drum) for an event in August.0 -
Morning peeps
Despite the gloomy weather, it was a great breakfast meeting today despite there being 5 of us - one chap decided he had a puncture and couldnt come because he didn't know how to change a wheel:rotfl: Is it wrong of me to have a quiet letch? There is a guy that comes for breakfast who is younger than me (him born in 1973) who is quite a dish and he certainly makes Tuesdays a far better day:D
Made a call to a photographer because I have space for one and invited him to the meeting next week - he photographs automobiles and dishy chap in group works for someone who makes parts for the likes of Jaguar Cars etc. - Win Win.
Today, I will be blogging and trying to get another article onto the first page of google, I will also be looking at monetizing my site so that I can earn money whilst I sleep:cool: I love money:cool:
I will also be making calls. Those dastardly minutes were done yesterday and sent off, only I first forgot to attach them to the email..doh. It is the meeting tonight and I need to take a raffle prize so if I have time later I may make up a small hamper of goodies from my presents box (I still have stuff left over from Avon when they had that offer on a year or so back buying 6 products for a fiver or something ridiculous like that). That way the prize hasnt really cost me anything.
Dunno why I got myself into a panic really, I know that I will manage - I still havent been shopping because I need to put petrol in the car this week so petrol comes before food. Just need milk because I have nearly run out (enough for a mug at lunchtime and that's it - I cannot thin it down anymore).0 -
What to report for today.
I got petrol today (why do they insist on charging me £1.359 per ltr? I was merrily filling the car and I thought it had started raining and then I looked to down in horror to find that I hadn't put the nozzle in the tank properly and I was getting blow back - my hand, my coat, my car and my back tyre was overed in unleaded:eek: I did report the spillage to the garage and cleaned the stuff off the car the best I could. Also nipped to the village to go to bank to get £50 out - then I went to the Co-op for milk and to have a shufty around their bargain shelf where I picked up a loaf of bread and a lemon & poppyseed cake, in the chilled section I got a reduced price quiche, then normal priced ham, bread rolls, tomatoes, strawberries (although these were marked at half price they were still £2), bacon and two sherry trifles...and I got milk.
I have been busy with calls both with mobile and on skype, desperately trying to get people to come to breakfast although I was astounded by some office supplies businesses who don't seem to want to do business with other business owners - my view is that it is their loss.
I have managed to get myself out of the breakfast meeting tomorrow morning as well:j and as I am busy on Saturday have tried to cancel my snow tubing thing which cost me £9 but the organiser claims that I cannot cancel so I am trying to sell my spot - it isnt that I don't want to go, I would rather use my petrol for work stuff as opposed to frivolous nonsense. Must admit that I am going out for a meal on Friday night - will pay for own food and catch the bus.
Someone else is looking for some work for me which is great - watch this space. I will have something before you know it.0 -
Mega boobed yesterday - I forgot I had a 2pm appointment with rather posh hotel at the NEC, I remembered at around 6pm:o I blame all the burning the candle at both ends, the early 5am starts and the midnight or later bedtimes:eek:
I went to a seminar last night - free and learnt about business referrals and social media. Made some connections and got a free book because I went to the first seminar:cool: This will help my business greatly:cool:
I drove home carefully (I hate driving in the dark) and got home at around 22.15 at about 23.00 I remembered that I hadnt eaten since lunchtime:eek: and I was feeling peaky so had to eat something. I got up at 9am this morning (sometimes it is great working for yourself). Today has been a day of calls and emails - all trying to get more people to go networking (some are really suspicious and some are downright rude).
Appointments have been made too - so next week I have a breakfast meeting at 8.45am in a hotel in Dudley before having a look at their meeting rooms (I am not having to pay for breakfast either). Wednesday will be a wash out really because I have to be at the eye hospital at some ridiculous hour 8.45am which means that I have to be up at 5am and out of the house at 6am latest.
Am trying to think of more ways to make money and not spend it.0 -
Just dropping in to say Hi! I am on my way to my own diary as I thought it best to write up my stuff first..... sadly neglecting things, I know.
Well, the seeds are certainly being sown for you to reap some benefits, I hope.
I love it when people really get stuck in rather than sit back and behave like a "Victim"..... know the sort (wink, wink)
Have a good day and a good weekend and, please God, some Good News!!!!
Hugs

Morning friends, romans, countrymen, vagabonds and thieves:rotfl:
I got up a little bit eariier today, I could swear I heard someone knocking on my front door but when I go there..well no-one was there..sigh.
Today, I feel as though I have been moving through treacle and getting nowhere fast, still got tons of calls to make. I am also looking at the tender document I have been sent and now I am working on my costings, had thought of charging £25 an hour but felt that was too cheap and now I am veering towards £50-75 an hour instead. It is something that is easy peasy but there is the time element and me having to attend meetings etc and I feel that £25 an hour just doesnt cut the mustard. Maybe I am depressed not sure, but I have started thinking that I don't really want the hassle of it if truth be known.:o
I am off out tonight to the Brazilian restaurant and it is an all you can eat menu - good job I like meat but I won't be greedy.
This weekend, I am (if you see me on here nag me) going to tidy my flat because I think that the state of it is dragging me down too:o
On a good note, my tomato plants have started to produce tiny tomatoes so now I need to water more and start feeding them. I am hoping for a massive crop from 3 plants as they are covered in flowers. I need to find a way of tying them up as they are now hanging off the balcony and one stem has already partly snapped:mad: There is nothing better than a freshly picked tomato:D
I do have something else to look forward to - a stay at the Hilton Metropole on the night of 4 August, I was invited to an event and then offered a room so I decided that to save me driving home in the dark I would take them up on their offer of a free room:rotfl: (the hotel is about 30 miles away from me).
I had better go and make calls before I get nagged.
Have a great day one and all.0 -
Morning peeps
I feel as though I have lost the will to live today, I received a letter from the post office about my car insurance and how they were taking over £420 from my account:eek: so I rang them because I had been quoted £382 and that is what I was expecting. Now I have had calls to and fro with some woman called Linda who now insists on ringing my mobile which is in another room and then she leaves stroppy messages about not being able to get hold of me, if she had phoned the landline as instructed then I would have picked up - the mobile is in a different room:mad: I think that next year, I will be changing suppliers.
The meal last night was ok - I got soaked so my bus ticket was sodden and I only got it out of my bag to present when I got on the second bus that would take me to Broad Street. I was worried it wouldnt be accepted on my journey home but it was because it had dried out slightly.
Meal was good - lots of salad (some of which was wierd that I didnt like) and lots of meat - I had sirloin, rump steak, lamb and chicken. We had chocolate cake too because it was one of our party's birthday - the restaurant staff nipped to Sainsbury's to buy it because they always provide the cakes (they didnt know until it was mentioned on the night). We also had free cocktails - ciprihana? (not sure of spelling). I also made someone's day because I had a voucher in my bag for free cocktails if two people were dining so I passed it on to a young couple who were over the moon. Dinner cost me £22.50 and I was good and avoided the temptation to go drinking afterwards, came home and fell asleep watching BBC4.
Applied for another temp job today - one that requires me to work weekends which I am willing to do if it gets money coming in. I have thought about applying for fruit picking jobs too - must ask around Pershore etc. to see what's available.
Money needs to come in.
Is it mean of me to have a crafty snigger? The chap that ditched me in favour of cheap apprentices has been let down by one lad who said that it was his dream job, he was due to start on Monday - so much for the National Apprenticeship Scheme:rotfl: I am thinking that what goes around comes around:rotfl:0 -
Another job found in local paper - will apply today especially as they will allow flexible hours. This jobhunting is making me ill but not as ill as being skint. I hate this situation and am cross with myself for getting into such a pickle.
Today, I have been typing up standing order mandates as it is about time those peeps that come along to breakfast start paying in advance every month - it would make life so much easier.
At the moment I cannot even afford to list stuff on ebay and i have loads to sell...am wondering if it is worth scraping enough money together for a pitch at a carboot and getting rid of stuff that way - I have 13 CDs (all the same) of band that I used to manage, I have a ton of crappy horror DVDs that twerp left behind (he was a sicko). I have wedding stuff still.....sigh. I would rather sell the wedding stuff through other means if possible because I am likely to get more because there is no way that I will sell a dress for £1925 at a carboot (I will accept either £1000 or even £925 for it - it is pure silk organza from a top Italian designer and only worn for a photoshoot for all of 10 mins).
Dunno what I shall have for dinner today, I havent gotten anything out of the freezer so I may have to have cupasoup - I have gone into frugal mode.0
