Hmmm, I am sure that a really thorough gas safety check was carried out for £39...not

Sorry for the late late reply but...

I have used AJ for two years now, I switched to him from my previous inspector of 8 years who charged £85 per inspection.
AJ is MORE thorough, and has picked up on a lot more points that needed attention than my previous gas safety inspector, who changed twice the money.

AJ isn't slack, he's just very reasonably priced.

you can't do a CP12 online you need to be there ;)
I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.
  • I am a Gas Safe registered engineer in Manchester, and I think that realistically you are looking at about £60-£70 if the only appliances are say a boiler and a gas hob,and if there is a gas fire(I would strongly advise landlords not to bother with them)the price should be about £80-£90.Personally if there is just a boiler and hob,I charge £60 and basically I do pretty much the same that British Gas do and I use a gas flue analyser on most boilers(unless there isn't an analyser point on the flue and it is too high to reach)I check as that basically tells me if the burner has to be removed or not, usually they don't as the readings are well within the permissible limits.Anything less for one property at any one time(different landlord/letting agencies) and it is frankly not worth turning up to do the job as you have to factor travel, van insurance, liabilty insurance, maintenance and calibration of my analyser and it soon mounts up,and that is before thinking about a wage. And to be frank and honest those who do these jobs for say £30 per CP12 are fools in my opinion, they are not just diddling themselves but they screw up everyone else.
  • Thanks for the recommendation but when I looked up Aaardvark Heating on the gas safe register site

    I couldn't find AJ on it. :cool:hmmm

We pay £39 each and we live in an expensive area.
