Talk Talk - speed drop

I was with tiscali when Talk Talk took them over, with tiscali i got 2mg & when talk talk took over my speed went up to 3mg. but last sunday 10th july my router kept losing dsl & internet light went red. monday morning every thing back to normal except for my speed down 1 meg, rang talk talk they tested my line & speed test & said i could only get 2mg where i live & told me to buy a new router off them £35. the router i have got is a netgear dgn2000 & only about 2 years old. no problem with router before & ok now. i think they have dropped my speed but will not admit to it, Talk Talk customers beware !!!! they give you good speed when you join them but after a while they drop your speed. iam not under contract with them so will find a better isp, bt infinity due in my area next spring will wait till then.

  • Hi
I'm with TT and 'up to' speeds! This speed varies from under 2 to just over3 mbs. I am 2 miles from the exchange. TT say my line can only sustain 3 mbs. I think I should pay a proportion of my 8 megs not the whole rental.

So which part of 'up to 8Mbps' do you not understand? Even the mighty Charles Dunstone cannot overide the basic laws of physics i'm afraid.
