@somthingcorporate...... no ur right the charge is on the ticket but when i asked why it was more for the ticket in 3d i was told by the staff that the extra £1.50 on top of the standard ticket price was for the glasses. not the screening of 3d which is why i think it wrong .. if it was cos it was for the 3d tech then i wouldn't be deputing it. then when i asked if they could discount that as i had my own glasses they refused.

i agree as you say it is legal for them to do that.. what i don't think is legal is to force the charge anyway , when you have your glasses

Sounds like the person you spoke to was misinformed then.

With VERY few exceptions, 3D films cost more to see than 2D regardless of glasses as the equipment is more expensive.
One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.

Which staff told you that? No disrespect to them but I'd guess most of the staff wouldn't be involved in the pricing decisions. As has been said previously, most cinemas charge extra for 3D over 2D and if you pointed out about the glasses THEN asked about the charge they'd tell you the charge was for the film anyway! You can't try to figure out what the extra to show the film would really cost, nor how much the glasses would cost. If I was going to complain about cinema prices mine would be the extortionate mark-up on the refreshments!!
From all the other posts only Showcase has been mentioned as one that has a two tier system within the 3D price..but only if you bought your glasses originally from them? I think you just have to accept that 2D is a different product from 3D and costs more and forget about the glasses - sorry!
  • @ halibut2209... this may very well be the case. as i was not informed of anything else the i only had the information i was armed with to go on.... if this is the case i will double check when i go to watch my next 3d film and see if i am told any different. thank you all for your feed back

i totally accept that 3d would be more and would not have a problem with that... but as i stated . this extra charge was explained to me that it was for glasses. not the 3d extra tech... so hence my disgruntlement at paying over and over for the same pair of glasses.

ps sorry if i just did that quote wrong im still learning on here.

I think a nice polite email to Vue's customer services should clear up the confusion. I can understand your annoyance given what you were told, but I'm pretty much convinced you were simply given incorrect information by a particular untrained member of staff due to what I call the "Toys R Us" scenario (ie you pay your staff peanuts, you get monkeys).

And I'd just like to add I love your username!

I'm more of an Angel geek. Mrs H and I met due to the fact I was singing "Mandy" at karaoke (cos Angel did), and we named one of our children "Connor" after Angel's son!
