How easy is it to pay using a credit card/debit card in Italy

We are just trying to decide how many euros to take to Italy. We are self catering with our car and caravan, so are thinking about campsite fees and fuel, food etc. Will it be as easy there as it is in Holland and Germany?

Yes debit and credit cards are widely accepted everywhere, although a big exception is small regional railway stations where when the ticket office is closed, you can only use cash for self service. Remember that if you want to buy petrol you will need a credit (NOT debit) for pre-authorisation. Have a good trip!0
