I love seafood, especially shell fish but youngest is severely allergic to shellfish so we have to be very very careful if the rest of us have it. It's great fun at parties when they have prawn rings and such like......
Youngest got a 7B in his geography assessment yesterday, geography! Very chuffed with him but it played to his strength in planning....he likes planning and making pretty diagrams and will go into it to the nth degree, others may spend 30 minutes doing it but he would spend 6 hours making sure everything is absolutely spot on.
He does have one suggestion for the school though....can he please be in a classroom on his own. I have tried to explain that he needs to be with the other children for social skills (plus of course, the financial cost to the school) but he just says he doesn't need social skills as when he gets older, he won't be around other people anyway, he only wants to be on his own....oh dear.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

Oh sue. But presumably he gets pleasure from being with you and his brothers? Can he be told that in the future he might care about someone else as much if he got to know them?
Right,
Lunch didn't work to fuel my energy, so I'm going to have a cup of tea then try and do some housework. I really need to change the bed linen but not sure I'm strong enough today.
Chewy good luck, now would be a good time to have you here goading and cheering me on.0 -

I've absolutely had enough of it all right now, I don't have the energy to put into it when you see people churning out bog standard or substandard stuff, which clearly means I'm in the wrong job. I'd rather H go off and work for people who care about their own houses than ever dream of trying to hold a straight face selling a stripped out, pasted over cheap magnolia and beige box.
I've totally lost the desire. People have no idea what houses look like behind the plasterwork, nor do they particularly care at the moment, as long as it's cheap.
I missed this post the first time so thanks lj for linking back to it. Sorry to hear this doozer. I hear my father and brother having this conversation all the time. Dad is a technical builder. He'll do it right to cost, he's passionate about getting it right, but not the look. My brother is also very technical but has much more of a design eye. He wants everything to look wonderful. He'll say something about the house, could be anything, from putting in a Belfast sink to using marble floor tiles instead of ceramic (for example), my dad will suck the air in through his teeth and say "you won't get your money back for that".
I think a combination of the House Doctor getting rid of all personality and the current recession have a lot to answer for. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? A lot of you are fitting kitchens (some of you many times) and a lot of you have kitchens you like ..... how high is your worktop? I've recently started finding that kitchen worktops are too high, they're almost boob height.
I've measured the one I have here and it's OK at 88cm, but I think the annoying ones I am coming across are about 100cm.
So ... do you have a biggun?
Edit: Just had a quick google, it looks like 90cm is supposed to be standard.Could depend on the thickness of the worktop or hight of legs but mine is 36" to the top of the worktop.
I'm not sure of the amount of adjustment in the legs but it may be possible to use a narrower plinth and have the legs lower, not sure though.I am 5ft tall and find kitchen worktops an uncomfortable working height, so do most things on the kitchen table as it is lower. Can you do the same?
It is wall cupboards that are pretty useless to me as they are out of reach and I can't abe !!!!!d hopping on and off stools.
Mr Spirit is 6ft 3" so has the top shelves to himself.
I'm about 5'7" ish. I tend to find worktops are at a good enough height. In my experience though, I feel that washing up/sinks are too low. Washing up gives me backache (that's my excuse & I'm sticking to it...;))It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

Mmmm.... I'm 5'6", I don't have any problem with worktop height being too high or sink height being too low. Though shhhh.... Please don't mention this to DH, he'll think he's married the perfect housework machine. Believe me, I'm anything but. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? If he had his way, he would spend all his time locked away in his bedroom...I am seen as being the provider of essential services rather than someone to spend pleasurable time with (although he doesn't mind watching a film or discussing his latest invention with me). It was many many years until he actually gave me a cuddle by his own choosing, then when I burst into tears of happiness that he had actually cuddled me, it scared him and put him off doing it again for ages.
He sees his brothers as annoyances preventing him from concentrating...pretty much how he sees the other children in his class or a teacher talking in the classroom (e.g. when another teacher comes in and they are talking to each other rather than teaching)
In his view, a group of 2 or 3 people is far too big a group to work in.
I have no idea how he is going to handle personal contact when he gets older, at the present time, it is doubtful in the future that he will let anyone close enough in to actually form a relationship let alone one that would be of a more sexual kind.We made it! I hope it's the weather viva. I really hope so. It's true I do not know whether I am coming or going with this weather.
I'm hoping that my zinc is given to me by chicken, beans, cheese & milk. I love milk & drink at least a pint a day.

Maybe he won't want a sexual relationship. Some people are asexual, for what ever reason. Perhaps he will genuinely be more content on his tod?0

Sue, I think you mentioned youngest wants to be a millionnaire entrepreneur. What does he say when you tell him he will need to interact with people in business? Even if he runs his own business entirely by himself, he'll have to buy supplies from people, find customers that are people, deal with people at the bank, etc. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing?
