///when I try to work out a sensible way to fit a loo, basin and shower into such an incredibly narrow space with access only at one end, I have to admit I can't think of anything better, so I think I see why they did it that way.
How would you do it Doozer, if you really wanted a shower-room and that was the only space you'd got? Or would you knock through some walls or something to make sure that wasn't the only space you'd got?
1] Not do it
2] Move a wall and do it
3] Get inspiration from camper van loo/showers to get a wetroom/loo into the space.
Years ago I had a wheelchair-bound friend, he had a wetroom/loo. The room was entirely tiled with a shower curtain round the shower head area and I'd never seen anything like it before. It was a council build, so the tiling was that old fashioned biscuit-coloured raised squares you'd get on the floor in public swimming pools in the 70s.0 -

1] Houses being too expensive for an increasing number of people
2] There are no qualifications needed to take a house and knock it about and sell it again. I can literally go out today, buy a house, do what I like and if I can find somebody to buy it then it's a winner. Often it's just a question of finding a greater fool.
While it'd be nice if everybody lived in lovely houses, the reality is that it's an increasingly smaller pool of people that can actually afford it. There will be somebody out there for whom that odd loo/shower combination will give them something that a place at the same price/location won't give them. so somebody will buy it. I'm sure whoever buys it will always wish they could afford another £20-30k to have a proper sized loo/shower, but they don't have that borrowing power, or it'll just go to a BTLer.
I'll find the full details of the house, so we can investigate alternatives....0 -

Clearly an attempt to encourage the man of the house to wee in the toilet, rather than the shower, (while showering obviously).I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I don't think michaels is around this morning, but Wanted Down Under, on now on the BBC, is comparing life in St Albans with Australia. In the Maldives (
), most public toilets had shower attachments in the toilet cubicle.Even more space saving.

I've seen similar in Thailand. Is it because the shower attachments are used as a kind of bidet attachment? I didn't try to find out. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? It's the shower room on the first floor.
I wonder if the following would be feasible for Lydia in a small space:
Have space set up as a wet room. As you walk through the door, its a shower immediately against the door, the door could be treated so that it's waterproof and is the barrier one way, there could be a screen the other side of the shower which could be retracted most of the time when being used as a toilet. Then you could have a space-saver cloakroom basin on the wall and the toilet against the far end. I don't know if this could work, probably a question for doozer, but it turns the space on its end - if the floor to the shower is wetroom treated, showers themselves don't take up much space so it should be feasible to walk straight through/past to the toilet. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing?
