How funny that you could even hoover in his room and he wouldn't wake up, I used to be like that, slept through a fire alarm and firemen knocking on my door at Uni once (and I was sober honest :) )

Love the idea of the memory box, hope you're enjoying doing it.

The memory box hasn't really got started yet Kittikins, today should see me gather a heap of addresses though, and then later on I am going to get the letters written and get sending them, then hopefully wait for some replies and hopefully some further names / addresses to contact :)

Just picked up a mystery shop for this afternoon, haven't done any for months so will be a nice few pounds to add to the pot :)

Just a thought if you have stuff that might not be worth ebaying does your area have a local group on FB for selling stuff?

I just joined my local one, thinking I might end up buying useless stuff though, other problem I have is I live about 10 miles away from town so not sure people would come to collect stuff but I am getting jealous that my OH has sold over £100 stuff on ebay this week! :p

Mystery shop done and submitted, I get £8 for doing it, but had to buy an item (£6.99). I bought some gloves, which I need, just need to decide now whether to keep them and use the £8 to cover it, or take them back and keep the £8

Nipped into tescos and spent £5.50 on some bits, £3 in the £ shop on some bits, £2.50 on a lipliner (+ my £5 no.7 voucher), and £1.50 on some chips to go with tea, so £12.50 total spends today.

I have a free bet tonight which should get me about a fiver, no more bids yet on ebay items, need to look out for any other ways of getting a few more pennies too.

I went to my aunts, she only managed to get me one more address but tonight I may start writing to people for Dads memory box.

Aah, its been a good couple of hours; first I decided to return the gloves as they're not that thick and I want warm toasty ones, so thats £8 to add to the holiday pot. Then I sold a bin on ebay for £7.00, and finally the free bet went my way, making me £10 profit, so in total I have got £25 to add to the holiday pot tonight which has taken me over the £300 target I was aiming for by xmas :j :D

If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

Thanks guys, I'm very happy to have got to £300 with 2 months to spare before the end of the year. I will now up the target and try to get as close to £500 as possible, then the remainder will come out of the isa's so that I can start the new year focussing on the mortgage pot again :D

Morning all, well I've been shopping already and have decided to finish off the rest of it online in the earm at home :)

I got some bits in Sainsburys toy sale, 2 boxes of Lego reduced to £4.99, a scooby doo action figure set (£4) and a club penguin cuddly toy (£3) for ds, then got his main pressie in Asda, an acoustic guitar, reduced from £50 to £30 then further reduced to £20 :T :T He's asked for one several times but I didn't eant to spend a lot on something that may not get used much, but £20 seemed good value and it will also look huge in the box under the tree :D

I also got him some football socks (£1.50) and a new football (£3) in sports direct for his stocking, and some new waterproof trousers for the snow (£5) which aren't an xmas pressie he just needs them. I took the gloves back and got my £7 back and found a similar pair for £3 in sports direct for me for the winter. :)

I got my sister and bil finished, and my nieces birthday present done, so now have mum, dad, brother, niece and nephew left to do and then I'm done :)

I spent exactly as planned for my sister and bil, the bits for ds weren't budgeted for but I need to figure out where they'll come from, although at least he's almost finished now, just need some sweets etc for his stocking.

So, ds is at holiday club, I have tried calling the ex inlaws but got an answermachine so have left a message about them seeing ds. Now the rest of the day will be spent on here, doing xmas shopping, and posting 2 parcels at the post office before collecting ds again at 5.30ish :)
