Thanks guys, I guess its not ideal if it does end up as a diagnosis, but in a lot of ways it doesn't really change anything, he's still just ds with all his quirks
But it may mean he gets better help and more suitable strategies to deal with his behaviour. If I'm honest it would also mean I could stop beating myself up quite so much and blaming myself for his behaviour
We'll see, he was assessed 3 years ago and although he had various 'tendancies' he didn't get a diagnosis for anything.
I do feel a bit better about his dad but don't trust him enough to think he'll stop there, I can't help but wonder if theres an ulterior motive to get me to go along to the meeting; if it turns out there is then I'll get up and leave, because I won't be the one with a prison guard attached to my sideMortgage Total: £50,720/ £75,000

For a change I have got my *rse in gear and started blitzing the flat tonight rather than leave it til tomorrow. So far I have emptied and refilled the dishwasher, put the washing machine on, cleared the surfaces in the kitchen, tidied and hoovered the lounge, tidied 90% of my room, tidied the bathroom and the hall.
Guess I ought to do a to-do list for the rest of the weekend, although I want to get a big chunk of it done tonight;- ironing
- clean guinea pigs
- clean bathroom
- clean lounge
- clean kitchen
- clean my bedroom
- tidy ds bedroom
- clean ds bedroom
- take rubbish out
- go on a bus
- ds to drama club
- clean the car
- tax return
- deliver thankyou letters
- ds homework
- visit mum
- post sil's birthday present
- backup laptop
- 50 x comps
- watch the Biggest Loser on iplayer
- get rock salt out of the garage and upstairs
- ditto slowcooker
- clear washing pile
Thats about it for now,Mortgage Total: £50,720/ £75,000

Lots of areas won't actually give an Asbergers diagnosis. Our respite foster child has never had a formal diagnosis but there is no doubt that is what it is but I do think once you can accept that the problem has a name you can cope with it and accept them for who they are. The boy we have has been coming to us for 6 years he is 16 now and he is lovely and we accept there are certain things that he copes with differently and really its us that needs to adapt.

I think it also helps that I work in a school and see lots of aspergers kids around, some are severely affected and you see them struggle with their peers, others are very mild and it hardly shows, only in certain situations. He's still ds and I'll always love him to the ends of the earth no matter whatMortgage Total: £50,720/ £75,000

The ones that are in blue are ones that I can't do tonight as they involve going out etc. I am going to try to clear as many of the others as possible though tonight. Its much easier when the place is clean and tidy, I feel more organised mentally too thenMortgage Total: £50,720/ £75,000
