Why don't you want to go for counselling? You say you have nobody to talk too and feel so alone so that would be a start. Have you tried googling your eating disorder to see if there are any forums or groups you could join to meet people who could understand and support you?

Try B-eat, they are an eating disorders charity, they have a helpline and a email address (beat Helpline 0845 634 1414, help@b-eat.co.uk), it may be a good starting point for you.

By what means have you recently "found out" that you have an eating disorder? This isn't something that suddenly creeps up on you overnight when you're not looking.

To be honest, I would have thought that counselling would be the very best way to start looking at your relationship with food. Until you've understood that I can't see how you could go about making any changes.

Don't let it get to you. There are very few of us who don't have a chronic ailment. It's part of life and you'll soon find out it doesn't affect you very much as long as you are aware of it and control it.

I'm not sure how you could not have known you had it, to be honest.

Go to the counselling! If you're a binge-eater I'm assuming the weight you're carrying about in order for this surgery to not be carried out safely has been around for some time.
