Oooo, Moo - how about a grand 'opening ceremony' for the shed??0
-
Its a braver woman than I that would attempt to open the door. Ninja level tetris techniques have been employed and 80% of the tat from the shelving units in the house have been relocated. This means theres not much floor space left in any of the sheds or the extension or the dining room for that matter. OH is tripping up over stuff and has donated a surprisingly large quantity of tat to the flea bay pile.
Will be getting up v. early tomorrow to unload the last of the tat and dismantle the shelving before he has a change of heart.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Go for it moo, sounds like you are close to having a man cave free house. So don't falter now. And be strong about things coming back in 'just so I can work on it a bit more in here' too!
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

Think we must live parallel lives Moo! All our sheds full to bursting - admit that lot of it is my 'work stuff' which I am temporarily ( hopefully) housing and the dining room is just a storage space as is our conservatory - had promised myself I would get to grips with it all this week but making very slow progress and finding 'Olympic' excuses not to deal with the big stuff:o wish my OH would donate the ever increasing pile of computer stuffBe the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Did it! Did it! Did it!
Many hundred spiders are now homeless. House looks like a bomb has it. Land Rover land is so empty it echoes and yet its still full of tat, only now its all at floor level.
Work was a v. nice break from everything at home. A bit too nice as it happens as I realised 130 pages into a slightly extended 30 minute lunchbreak.
Went out for dinner. There isn't enough space in the kitchen to cook.
Had an oh shoite moment when my step mother phoned to say they've decided to visit. Have delayed that for a couple of weeks for the sake of what little sanity I have left.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Plans for the day involve the consumption of much coffee after staying up far too late to watch the Olympic swimming events. Can't stop yawning. Am glad its only a 4 day week although OH has been landed with a 6 day stint.
Need to take a trip to the tip to get rid of another load of junk which will make space for the chucking of much more tat. Seem to be running out of stuff to lob as its all critical landie parts for the landie which hasn't been touched since last year. Its not looking likely to get touched either as OH is contemplating using the remainder of his annual leave to visit his friend in southern France mid September once school is back. Am I impressed by this? Oooooh no I'm not. Although I've already put my foot down at taking the DDs out of school for the duration as they won't be doing anything touristy, instead hes going to help his friend with a spot of DIY. Humph. Its not like there isn't a ton of it to do around here.
On the brightside it would mean a week of peace in and amongst the hassle it would cause.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Moo, I so love your diary! Only you can make clutter clearing and sheds entertaining and interesting! I love the ninja level tetris techniques involved in storing tat, something I ought to employ in my kitchen cupboards.
Not sure I'd be happy about the OH wanting to help someone else with their DIY in the South of France when there is a tiny bit outstanding at home...:rotfl:Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

Well I suppose its only a teeny bit of outstanding DIY. It's not like having plaster on the ceiling adds to the overall quality of life and the DDs have both survived childhood without the socket behind the toaster being attached to the wall. Am hoping at some point he'll give in and admit that plastic socket fronts don't look pretty but at least they fit unlike the posh shiny ones a smidgen bigger which most definately don't. may well arrange a visit from my dad (an electrician) which co-incides with his jaunt and get him to swap them over for me.
I suspect the lure of a few weeks at the bottom of the garden with his new toy will be more than enough of an incentive not to go. If not I'll buy some very minimal skimpy undies and a rather risque sluttish lacey nightdress and appeal to his masculine side. Not that I plan on wearing them or doing much more than leave the bag lying around before returning them from whence they came, normally just the thought is enough.
Still thats a whole month or so away. Which is sadly all that remains of the school holidays which seem to be flying by at a ridiculous speed.
Sold 3 out of 4 items on Flea-bay for a stupid amount of money. Ridiculous even. Ended up with three times what I was expecting which is always jolly good.
Had an e-mail from the purveyor of boys toys asking if we'd write about our experiences for a magazine publication and as a thank you they'd lob a few more toys in OHs direction. Well it would be rather churlish to say no. So I didn't. Quite whether the intro I've sent them is in line with a publication aimed at retired gents is another matter. Will wait and see.
Meanwhile on the off chance anyone is in the market for a Kindle the lovely people of Amazon have sent me a single use £10 off voucher which is valid until August 10th. PM me and its yours.
Peace ends tonight as DD1 returns from camp. Must finish changing her bed and giving her room a quick whizz over. Quite when I'll fit that in is anyones guess.
The last of the electrics are in. Just the small matter of connecting the house to the shed remains. I'm not holding my breath for that happening any time soon. Hoping now that out of the way OH will continue sorting tat out in order to shift the last of the junk out of the house before he stubbs his toe on anything else.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
What is it with France September and OH's having long weekends away?? Mine just announced he is off for a long weekend with his flying buddies - a long weekend that starts on a Wednesday and finishes on a Tuesday BTW ( isnt that a week??). Fine by me I am plotting for a weekend away with a couple friends.I cant remember when if ever I have been away since the DDs arrived and eldest will be 21 soon!
Good news on the writing thing.........a new income stream maybe in the future??
What are you selling on Eb*y cos my sales have gone really off the boil:(Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi
